Chapter 103
As soon as we got upstairs the noise of these creatures trying to get into the packhouse was so much louder. We ran for the living room and Logan and Ezra were barricading all the windows so they couldn’t get inside that way. But I saw Paisley standing on the stairs, holding Aiden.
“Get the kids to my mother’s room. Close the blinds and stay there.” I ordered. So she turned around and ran upstairs and I ran to the dining room.
I knocked everything off the table and I grabbed it by one end and pushed it up against the window.
We had to do that in every single room downstairs of the house and Cory helped me run from room to room.
When we got back to the living room Ezra ran over to make sure that I was alright.
“Why the hell are they attacking now? They’ve never attacked us before.” Logan yelled.
“Because they saw Morgan. She’s the one that they want. The one downstairs was calmer when Morgan was near it.” Cory said.
“Holy shit. I didn’t even put that together.” Logan said.
“Why am I not surprised?” I said, sarcastically.
“We have to get you out of here.” Ezra said.
“How do you suppose we do that? The whole house is surrounded by those things.” I said.
“I’ve alerted all of my warriors. They’re on their way here.” Logan said. But I told everyone to shut up.
I listened really carefully to the noises that were outside when I realized that there was a lot of scratching and clawing. But it wasn’t coming from the doors or windows.
“They’re climbing the walls.” I said.
“What?” Logan asked.
“Upstairs.” I said, running up the stairs.
We had to run from room to room, blocking all the window so they couldn’t get in. And then to the third floor where my mother was.
I ran into the room with the kids and Savannah was screaming while Aiden was crouched down in the corner.
Paisley was in the corner as well, holding Savannah and trying to calm her down while holding onto Aiden.
The kids were terrified and Ezra blocked the window while I checked on the kids.
I kissed them both and told them that they were going to be just fine. They didn’t have to worry. I wasn’t going to let anything happen to them.
“Morgan.” Mom said, weakly from her bed.
“It’s alright mom. Nothing is going to happen to anyone. Not while I’m here.” I said.
“Be careful. Those creatures are dangerous.” She said.
“I know they are.” I said.

“They’re after you.” She said.
“I know that. How do you know that?” I asked.
“The first time they came for you, you were just a baby. Your dad saved you. They tried a couple other times when you were little, but they never got you.” Mom said. “Why do they want me? What’s so special about me?” I asked.
“I don’t know sweetie. I never found that out. But I know you will. You have to.” She said.
They started breaking through the front door when we finally heard the warriors running to the packhouse and attacking the creatures on the outside of the packhouse.
We ran back downstairs and they had busted a hole in the front door and we saw a really skinny, gray colored arm with really long claws sticking through. It was trying to push all of the equipment away from the door.
But I ran over to the fireplace and I grabbed the fireplace poker and I ran to the front door and stabbed it through it’s arm and the poker got stuck in the door. Which meant that creature was also stuck.
But then I heard a growl before the creature was ripped away from the poker and its arm was torn as the wolf ripped it away from the house.
