Chapter 105

By day break, the whole pack was out to see what damage had been done to the town. They apparently weren’t just attacking the packhouse, but they were attacking the whole town. That’s why it took so long for warriors to come to our aid and why we didn’t get the response that we had hoped for.

When I went downstairs I heard something strange out the front of the house, so I opened the door and Logan had a warrior tied to a wooden post without a shirt on, whipping him.

I ran downstairs and I grabbed Logan by the arm and pushed him away from the warrior.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” I asked.

“He was meant to be here last night. But he wasn’t. He didn’t come to protect his Alpha.” Logan growled. And I looked at the warrior again. I knew him.

“Of course he didn’t. He wasn’t protecting his own fucking family. What is wrong with you?” I asked.

“I don’t care if he was protecting his family or his grandparents. He’s meant to come when the Alpha calls.” Logan yelled.

“You’re fucking insane. That’s why this pack isn’t the way it used to be. Because you have no idea how to run a pack.” I yelled.

“It’s only gone to shit since you left.” He said.

“Don’t you dare blame this on me. I left because of you. Because I couldn’t stay here and be treated by you, my mate, like a fuck buddy and toy to play with while you were playing house with another whore in the pack.” I yelled.

A lot of people started murmuring and whispering after I said that. And it got my attention immediately.

“Holy shit. No one knows, do they? You didn’t even tell them why you turned into such a prick after I left.” I said.

“Of course I didn’t tell them.” He said.

“You never told them that I faked my death. I rejected you. I did everything I could to make sure that you never found me.” I said.

“Why would I tell them that? They didn’t like you. They didn’t respect you.” He said.

“Yeah. Because of you and your fucked up father. Where is he by the way? I would love to have a chat with him.” I said.

“He’s dead.” Someone in the audience said. But I scoffed.

“If you actually believe that then you deserve to be beaten by this fuckwit… He’s not dead. He’s alive and hiding somewhere on packlands. Where was he last night? He obviously didn’t care enough about his own son to help you,” I said,

“The only reason why we were attacked was because of you. They wanted you.” Logan yelled, pointing his finger in my face.

“And because they wanted her, you now know how to kill them. Morgan killed one last night. But I bet you weren’t going to tell the pack that, were you?” Ezra yelled, coming downstairs.

“You told us that they were unkillable.” Someone else said.

“I thought that they were. Until last night.” Logan said.

“But you still didn’t say anything. You’ve been making us live in fear all morning. You told us that they would be back and the people that didn’t protect you needed to be punished so it didn’t happen again. You told us that they were going to kill us all.” A man yelled from the crowd. And I turned to look at Logan.

I didn’t have any words for what I had just heard. He wasn’t telling them the truth.

He was telling them everything except the truth because he didn’t want to give them hope. He wanted them to live in fear.

I felt my rage start to boil to the surface. I started shaking and I couldn’t help it. Not even when Ezra came and stood right next to me.

I just threw my arm back and punched Logan straight in the face.

He fell back on the ground grabbing his face.

Ezra untied the man that was being whipped and I walked over to Logan and I kicked him in the stomach while he was down.

I then leant over him and I grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him up so I could punch him over and over and over again in the face.

“Help me.” He said, holding his hand out to his pack. But none of them stepped forward to help him. None of them had any interest in helping him.

A lot of them turned their backs. The ones that didn’t want to see any more and they started walking away.

I got up with blood on my hands and clothes and I looked around at the remaining pack members. They were all staring at me with emotionless faces. I couldn’t tell if they approved or disapproved of what I just did. But I didn’t

care.

I wasn’t here for their approval. I had never gotten it before, so why would I want it now?

I walked back to the packhouse and to the front door.

Paisley was in the living room with the kids and Ezra followed me inside.

“What are you doing?” Ezra asked. But I didn’t answer him.

I walked straight to the basement door and I went downstairs to that creature that was in the cage.

It was almost like he was expecting me to come.

So I grabbed a crate and sat on it while Ezra stood a few feet back..

“So, if I bite you, you die. I know that for a fact. What else about me can kill you?” I asked. And the creature just stood there staring at me. “Don’t pretend like you don’t understand me. My mother told me that you’ve come for me several times in the past. When I was kid.” I said.

“I’m surprised she remembered.” He said.

“Yeah. She did. So, what else of mine can kill you? My claws? My blood? What?” I asked.

“I’m not going to tell you what will kill us.” He said.

“Right. You’re too smart for that. I guess Logan just wasn’t doing the right experiments on you. Don’t worry. I won’t make the same mistake. Your ass is mine now bitch. You better get ready. Because Logan went easy on you. I won’t.” I said, getting up and leaving the basement.
