Chapter 117
“Wow. Said like a true soldier. If I kill your master, do the rest of your bastards die?” I asked. And he looked at me but looked away.
“I think he just gave you the answer.” Ezra said.
“Yeah. He did.” I said.
“How do we find your master?” Ezra asked. But the creature stopped talking to us. It was refusing to answer any more questions. It knew that we weren’t going to keep it alive.
It thought that I was going to be its hope to get out of here. Not the cause of it’s death.
“It doesn’t matter. It’s master will come to me.” I said, standing up.
“You will never beat master. He’s too strong. You’re not.” It said, almost like a mantra. Like it was drilled into it’s head for it’s whole life. Which it probably was.
“We’ll see about that.” I said, turning around and walking upstairs.
Ezra followed me and locked the door behind me. We went to the kitchen where I got two cups of coffee and Ezra was leaning up against the bench staring at me.
“Don’t start.” I said.
“What you did was incredibly stupid? Do you have any idea how bad things could have gone wrong down there?” He asked.
“But they didn’t. I knew what I was doing. Give me a little fucking credit.” I said.
“I can’t do that. Not when you go off on your own like that.” He said.
“I got what we needed.” I said.
“And what did you find out? Exactly?” He asked. And I let out a deep breath, getting frustrated with the way he was speaking to me.
“I know that my blood weakens them and then we can injure them without them being able to heal.” I said.
“So, you let that thing feed off of you?” He yelled.
“Of course not. I injected my blood into its neck using a needle. And it worked. It was
in so much pain for hours that it was weak. And when the pain was over, I scratched
it with my claws and the wound didn’t heal. That’s how we will them. Make a synthetic copy of my blood and hope that it does the trick.” I said.
“Are you serious? Do you seriously think it will work?” He asked.
“It’s all we’ve got. And I don’t see anyone else coming up with a plan that doesn’t involve selling me to the fucking master like the pack is probably already planning on doing.” I yelled.
I heard something at the doorway to the kitchen and when I turned to look, Logan
was standing there and Ezra growled. But Logan didn’t budge.
“This is bullshit. We’re not using you or your blood to draw them out.” Ezra demanded, leaving the room.
I stood there, frustrated and out of options when Logan walked into the room and poured himself a coffee.

“I don’t want to hear it from you.” I said, without looking at him.
“He shouldn’t talk to you like that.” Logan said.
“Like you know how to treat a ma
He’s trying to keep me safe. All you ever did was try to control me.” I said.
“I know that I treated you horribly. But I always believed that you would come back
to me. And bring my son back to me.” He said.
“Are you still on about that shit? I told you. Ezra is his father.” I said.
“We both know that’s not true.” He said.
“Ezra is the only father he knows. And if you try to take him off of me, I will fucking kill you.” I said, glaring at him.
“I never said that I was going to take him away. I just meant that he is an incredible kid and I know that Penelope isn’t carrying an heir to this pack. She’s not even carrying a pup with Alpha blood. The pack will never accept that baby.” He said.
“Aiden will never be the Alpha of this pack.” I said.
“Morgan. I really was going to come for you. Once I had managed to kill her uncle. I was going to come to you and claim you as my mate.” He said, facing me straight
on.
“Well, you waited too long for that. Didn’t you?” I asked.
“And there’s no chance of changing it?” He asked.
I looked into the other room where Paisley had brought the kids into the dining room
so she could get their breakfast and Ezra walked into the room after them. Playing
with them and talking with them. Being their father.
“No. There is absolutely no way of changing it.” I said, walking out of the room.
