Chapter 13
I eventually got up to go and have a shower and washed my hair and washed off my makeup. I packed the dress into the box again, really neatly and I was careful not to ruin it in any way.
I just had to find out how I was going to pay to get it dry cleaned. It’s not really something that we have in our budget. But I knew that I could work something out.
When I got dressed I went into the living room and I watched a bit of TV before my eyes were starting to get too heavy and I finally laid down on the couch and crashed.
The following morning when I got up, I noticed that my ankle wasn’t hurting any more. My ribs were pretty good
now too.
I loved the accelerated werewolf healing. But I have never had anything heal this fast before. It was strange.
I stretched on my ankle to see if there was any pain at all and it was all gone.
So I got changed into a gray sweater, track pants, socks and sand shoes.
I left the trailer and I started jogging around the territory and just as I was coming up
on the packhouse, I saw Beta Levi sitting on the front veranda.
He stood up and started walking towards the treeline where I was jogging so I slowed down as he got closer to me.
“Beta.” I said, puffing.
“I’m glad to see you feeling better.” He said.
“Yeah. Is there something you need?” I asked.
“Alpha Logan wants to see you.” He said.
“Now? It’s 6:30 in the morning.” I said.
“I’m aware of that. He still wants to see you.” He said.
“I’m busy.” I said.
“It’s not a request.” He said, standing in front of me.
I stared at him for a moment before I finally got up and I walked towards the packhouse.
Beta Levi opened the door for me and I walked inside to see Alpha Logan in the bar area sitting at a table with some files in front of him.
“You can leave.” Alpha Logan said to Beta Levi. So Beta Levi turned around and walked away pretty quickly.
“Didn’t we say everything we needed to say last night?” I asked.
“No. I wanted to know why Penelope was in your house?” He asked.
“I don’t live in a house, I live in a trailer. And I don’t know why she was there. She attacked me, I stopped her and
I threw her out.” I said, giving him a dose of reality. How dare he call that piece of shit a house.
“She didn’t say anything to you?” He asked.
“No. Not as much as you two said to each other. I heard you two screaming at each other as you got her away.” I
said.

“Yeah. Because she attacked another pack member p>
“Really? Does that mean that the five bastards that ambushed me the other day are locked in the dungeon?” I asked. And he looked up at me without saying anything. “Yeah. That’s what I thought. Is that everything? I need to get home.” I said.
He still just sat there looking at me. I couldn’t decipher the look on his face. I didn’t know if he wanted me to stay and talk or if he was angry with me or what. I didn’t know what the hell his problem was.
“No. You can go now.” He said.
So I turned on my heels and I left the house.
I jogged back to the trailer and it looked like mom had just gotten up and I went to have a shower and got dressed for the day. 3
When I walked out of the bedroom mom went to have a shower and get dressed for work.
I made a coffee and I sat at the table trying to get a little more homework done since
I barely got anything done last night. (4
When mom came back out of the bathroom, she stopped at the kitchen bench to get a coffee.
“What’s in the box?” She asked.
“Oh, wrong address. I’ll deliver it to the right person today.” I said.
