Chapter 209

As we approached the two men that were waiting for us in the park, we were really careful to make sure that no one was watching us.

“Savannah. These are my friends. Jordan and Mick.” Ben said.

“It’s nice to meet you.” I said.

“You too. We were really surprised to hear that this guy finally found his mate. And really relieved that it wasn’t Brittany.” Mick said.

“Oh yeah. I just met her.” I said.

“So, what’s all this about?” Jordan asked.

He was straight to the point. I could tell that he was really uncomfortable being here

so he was probably just wanting to get the hell out before we got busted. But Ben had some important questions.

“I haven’t seen the Luna or heard anything about her since we got here. We were even at the packhouse today.” Ben said. And the guys looked at each other.

“Why do you want to know about her?” Jordan asked.

“Because I do. I think it might have something to do with the way my parents died.” I said.

“Ben. You’re asking for trouble. I hope you realize that.” Mick said.

Ben looked at me but I squeezed his hand. I knew that we needed to find out what happened to her otherwise he will never be able to rest. She was the connecting link in all of this.

“Where is she?” Ben asked.

“She was banished. About a year ago. The Alpha got sick of her and now he’s vetting all of the women in the pack who are single and are under the age of 25.” Mick said.

“He’s almost 50.” Ben said, scrunching his nose up. Obviously not impressed with what he just heard.

“We know. But since when has that ever stopped him. Now, is that all you need?” Jordan asked.

“Do you have any idea where the former Luna is?” I asked.

“We heard that she was trying to make her way in a human town. She started at the one closest to here but the Alpha wouldn’t let her get on with her life. So she moved on from there. We’re not sure where.” Mick said.

“Alright. That’s all we needed. Thank you.” Ben said.

When we got back to the house Ben and I were sleeping in his old room.

I was surprised that it was still available. Why hadn’t Leah given it to one of her kids? I mean, it definitely is big enough.

As soon as we went into the room Ben laid down on the bed to stare up at the ceiling but I grabbed my phone and dialed a number.

“Hello.” Morgan answered.

“Hey mom.” I said.

“Sweetie. How are you enjoying the trip there?” She asked.

“It’s not too bad. I guess. I actually have something important to ask you.”

“Sure. What is it?”

“Well, we’re trying to find the former Luna of this pack. We think that she might have

had something to do with Ben’s parents being killed.” I said.

“Alright. What’s the name?” She asked.

“Sally Silvermen.”

“No worries. I’ll find out what I can and I’ll call you back.”

“Thanks mom.” She said.

When I got off the phone I laid down on the bed next to Ben and he wrapped his arms around me.

“It’s been a big day.” Ben said.

“It has. We both need to get some sleep. Mom’s gonna call back as soon as she has something on the former Luna.”

“Do you think she’ll be able to find her?” Ben asked.

“I’ve seen my mother searching the dark web. Trust me, if Sally’s out there then she will find her.” I said.

Ben leaned over and kissed the top of my head so I looked up at him and he caught my lips in a kiss immediately.

He pulled me on top of him so I was straddling him and as he was still kissing me his hands were exploring my body and feeling under my shirt.

Suddenly the door burst open and I turned to see two kids standing at the door watching us so I quickly jumped off of Ben and sat next to him.

“Why aren’t you two in bed?” Ben asked, sitting up.

“We don’t have to go to bed until we’re tired. And we’re not tired.” Aly said.

“Well, I am. And so is Savannah. We’re trying to go to sleep.” Ben said.

“Then why was she on top of you?” Aly asked. And we heard laughing down the hall.

“I should have known it was you Jace.” Ben yelled.

“I just told them to knock on the door and see what you were doing. I didn’t tell them

to barge in.” Jace yelled back while he was still laughing.

“I hate that asshole.” Ben said as he laid back on the bed.

“Have you guys always been like this?” I asked.

“Pretty much. None of us have really gotten along. That’s why we didn’t get such a warm welcome when we

got here. They didn’t think I was ever going to come back.

“Ben. I’m helping you try to find the truth about your parents. Can you please tell me what happened?” I asked.

Ben laid there looking at me and then he looked at the girls standing at the door so he got up and closed the door.

He walked back over to the bed not looking at me as he sat next to me, not saying anything for a really long time.

“I was still a teenager. My parents were the best parents that you could hope for.mean, if anything happened to me or my siblings then my parents would have done the same thing as yours. They wouldn’t have given up until they found us. No matter how long it took.

But then they started acting weird. Really distant all the time. They were always going out and they wouldn’t tell us what they were doing. Going to secret meetings. I started getting really fed up with it. They were dodging all of my questions and avoiding me as much as possible. I was the only one that was still living at home. The others left as soon as they could. Anyway decided to follow them and they were meeting secretly with the Luna. They both were. And the Luna looked terrified. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but my mom and dad both gave her a hug before they left…I have a feeling that she was wanting to leave the pack and my parents were helping her. I think that’s why they did. I think the Alpha did it.” Ben explained to me. All the while I was sitting there in complete silence listening to everything that he was saying.
