Chapter 211

Sally put the bat down and she visibly relaxed a little, but she looked out the windows to make sure that we hadn’t been followed.

“Ben. What the hell are you doing here?” Sally asked.

“Looking for you. I need answers.” Ben said.

“I can’t help you. You need to leave.”

“I know that Alpha Silverman was going to kill you. THat’s why you fled. My parents helped you, didn’t they?” Ben asked. And she looked at me strangely.

“I’m Savannah. Ben’s mate.” I said.

“She’s Morgan and Ezra’s daughter.” Ben said. And Sally suddenly got a surprised look on her face.

“If you need help or if you need somewhere to hide that is safer than being on your own, my parents will help you. You can go back to their pack. They won’t turn you away.” I said.

“That means they will be starting a fight with Daniel.” She said.

“Have you not heard of Savannah’s parents? They will take him on easily.” Ben said. “Why are you here? Why did you come looking for me?” Sally asked.

“Because I think Alpha Silverman had my parents killed. I want to know the truth. And my brother and sister have just accepted the truth. The truth that keeps changing. I can’t do that.” Ben explained.

“Daniel’s changing his story. That sounds about right.” She said, walking through to the kitchen so we followed her.

We sat at the table and she was looking out the windows the whole time. Making sure that we were alone and there was no one snooping around the house.

“Did my parents help you escape?” Ben asked.

“Yeah. I had to get out. He was going to kill me. But now I’m constantly living in fear so I don’t know what’s worse.” I said.

“And then he killed my parents for helping you.” Ben said.

“I only found out when I didn’t get one of their check ins. They would check in every

6 months and I hadn’t heard from them for about 8 months. So I called your dad’s

phone and your brother answered. I couldn’t let him know that it was me. But he told me what happened to your parents.” She explained.

“He didn’t recognise your voice?” I asked, skeptically.

“No. I don’t think so. Why?” Sally asked, looking nervous.

“You were his Luna. For a long time. I think he would have just recognised your voice.” I said. And she got up and started pacing around the kitchen.

“What is it?” Ben asked.

“Not long after I found out that your parents were dead, I was attacked. I had to flee where I was living. I was homeless for a few weeks just so I could stay off the grid before I could get a new identity. He told the Alpha.” Sally said.

“Well…..I don’t know if he would…” Ben started to say but I put my hand on his arm.

“Yeah. He would have told the Alpha because that’s who he was loyal to. Everyone would have viewed you as a runaway Luna. A betrayer. Isn’t that right?” I asked. And Ben sat back looking at me.

“Wow. You’re really starting to get the hang of werewolf society.” Ben said. And Sally looked at us weird.

“Savannah. That’s why I didn’t recognise your name. You’re the one that was kidnapped and raised by Hunters.” Sally said, still pacing around.

“The Hunters are gone. My parents ended them. You don’t need to worry about them.” I said.

“What about your brother? Did he follow you here?” Sally asked.

“Of course not. We left in the middle of the night and there was no one around. We didn’t see any cars following us and believe me, I was looking.” Ben said. So she nodded her head.

“But you found me. It means the Alpha can. I have to move again.”

“We found you because my mother found you. She has a lot more resources. I don’t

think the Alpha has any clue where you are.” I said, trying to assure her.

But honestly, I didn’t know if she was compromised. If she’s been living in this house for a while then it was definitely time for her to move. needed to do it now. Even I taught that as a Hunter.

She

“Alright. We need to find out how my parents really died. The Alpha keeps changing

his story about it. First he said the vampires killed them and then he said rogues.” Ben said.

“It’s what he does. He lies. And he uses that damn pack like it’s his own personal hunting ground.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“He uses his warriors to do his bidding. He does everything from drug trafficking to assaulting his own she-wolves in that pack. Using them as slaves and sex slaves.” Sally said.

“That’s why you left.” I said.

“I tried to go to the werewolf council about it. But they didn’t do anything. They wouldn’t do anything.”

“Alright. We’re going to go back to the pack. And I think you should probably get out of this town. You’ve been here too long. You’ve gotten too comfortable.” Ben said.

“I was thinking the same thing.” Sally said.

“Alright. Take it easy. If we need to find you then we’ll get Morgan and Ezra to track you down. They’re good at it. And they won’t tip off the Alpha.” Ben said.

“Thank you.” Sally said.

So Ben and I left her house and she had already started packing. So we walked up to the car and we left as quickly as possible, while we were both checking our surroundings. Making sure that no one was watching us. Since we were both trained in it.

As we started driving back towards the pack, neither of us had much to say. We were trying to put it together in our heads and we would occasionally come up with a theary but we were only brainstorming.

Suddenly the car jerked forward and I spun around in my seat and all I could see were the headlights from the car that was right behind us, ramming the back of our

car.

We didn’t even see it coming. But it rammed us again and Ben was doing everything he could to keep control of the car.
