“Penelope. You know that’s not possible. I am the Alpha and we were just attacked by rogues. I have to go and deal with that mess.” I insisted.
“It can wait.” She said, wrapping her arms around me and kissing me.
Oh my goddess, I wish this bitch would just get the hell away from me.
I managed to lightly pull back and I pecked her on the nose.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. Alright.” I said.
“You better be. I’ll be waiting in bed for you.” She said, seductively.
“I don’t doubt that.” I smiled at her as I put my glass down and I left the house again.
I went to assess the damage and there wasn’t too much damage at all.
So I made my way back to the hospital and I checked on my warriors that were getting treated but they all seemed to be doing really well.
I couldn’t see Morgan anywhere. But I saw Ace standing outside of a room, so I walked up the hallway.
“Her mother’s in there with her.” Ace said.
“Her mother doesn’t know about us, does she?” I asked.
“No. Morgan thinks that her mother won’t take it very well. Not after what happened to her father.” Ace explained.
“I guess I can understand that.” I said.
I turned back to look at the room and took a deep breath before I walked inside and
Violet looked up at me.
“What are you doing here?” She asked.
“I came to see how she is.” I said.
“Why do you care?” Violet asked.
“I never said that I don’t care p>
“No. You just dumped us out in the woods with no protection and no patrols. You knew this was going to happen. Your father was probably hoping that I would be the one to die, but instead my daughter is laying here fighting for her life.” Violet said, looking away from me.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen. I’m going to increase patrols. They are going to be patrolling the entire border. Even near your trailer.” I said.
“Too little, too late. She’s all I have left.” Violet said.
“I know she is. And she’s the reason why you haven’t given up yet.” I said.
“What the hell would you know about it?” Violet snapped.
“Morgan told me.” I said. And her head whipped around to look at me.
“What? Why are you even talking to my daughter p>

“Really? You’ve been Alpha for years now and you’ve never even spoken to me. You haven’t even tried to get us out of that trailer. You haven’t tried to help us at all. Don’t tell me that you’re not like your father. You’re exactly like him. Now, can you please leave my daughter’s room?” Violet asked.
I knew that if I stayed, Morgan would heal quicker. Like last time. But I didn’t know how to tell Violet that. I didn’t know how to tell Violet my reason for staying without telling her the truth.
“What are you waiting for? She isn’t your problem. She’s not your responsibility. I can take care of my own child.” Violet snapped at me.
“She’s my mate.” I blurted out. And she looked at me, wide eyed and in complete shock.
“Does she know?” Violet stuttered out.
“Yes.” I said.
“Why didn’t she tell me p>
“She didn’t think you’d understand. You are now under strict Alpha orders not to tell anyone that I am mated to your daughter. It doesn’t leave this room.” I ordered her.
“How many other people know p>
“My Beta and Ace. The warrior that helped you tonight. He’s been protecting her since she turned 18.” I explained.
“I don’t believe this.” Violet said.
I walked to the other side of Morgan’s bed and I put her hand in mine.
“I know that she will heal faster with me here. She did last time.” I said.
“What do you mean ‘last time’?” Violet asked. Crap. Morgan didn’t want to tell her.
“What does that mean?” Violet demanded to know.
“When she was beaten in an alley behind the cafe. She was in a coma p>
“When the hell did this happen? I didn’t know anything about it.” Violet said.
I was totally screwed. I just let out all of Morgan’s secrets to her mother. The secrets
that she didn’t want to tell her mother because she didn’t want Violet to worry about her.
Morgan was going to have my fucking head when she wakes up.
