I left the driver’s door open and I had to cut my hand again because that wound was already healing as I was walking through the woods. Letting the blood drop from my hand. Knowing that this would leave a false trail.
I took my exact steps back to the car and I grabbed my bag out the back of the car and started walking up the road
with it.
I was getting a little anxious now that I was out in the open. I knew that Logan would be looking for me. He would be pissed that I had gone. Or he would still be partying it up with his fiancee and wouldn’t be able to leave to look for me. Who the hell knew what was going through his head? And honestly, I was sick of trying to figure him out.
I was just glad that I was finally away from him. But then I remembered what Cory had told me. He obviously knew more about werewolves than they let on.
So I turned around in the spot, looking down at the black highway with nothing in front of me except the winding road and the darkness of the forest around me.
“I, Morgan Jameson, of the Night Walker Pack, reject you Alpha Logan Abraham, as my mate and my Alpha of the Night Walker Pack.” I said to myself. 4
But the second I did that, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. It was piercing and I fell to the ground but only place one palm on the ground as I tried to breathe through the pain.
I knew that if I had felt it, then he had too. Now, if there was another wave of pain then that meant he had accepted my rejection.
At least this way, he wouldn’t be able to use the bond to find me. I wanted nothing more to do with him.
When the pain finally subsided I got up and started walking away from the pack again, but I didn’t get very far before a black SUV pulled up beside me.
I walked over to it and opened the back door. The driver nodded at me and I got in the backseat.
He didn’t say anything to me. He just drove the car. But I knew where he was taking me. It had been arranged. I’d arranged it before Ace showed up. So he wouldn’t have to lie to Alpha Logan either.
If they are put under Alpha control, no one will be able to tell anyone where I have gone. And that’s the way I wanted it.
My part of the mate bond was broken, but for some reason, I didn’t think he was going to give up that easily.
We finally drove across the border into a different pack and the driver drove through the quiet little town that was all closed up for the night, since it was so late and he pulled up outside the packhouse.
As soon as I opened the door and got out of the car, I looked up at the packhouse,
Every packhouse must look so different from every other pack. Because they all just look like mansions to me.
But they were beautiful houses.
The door then opened and Alpha Ezra walked outside, so I walked up the stairs to him.
“I don’t want you to get into trouble for this.” I said.
“Don’t worry about me. My men can take on Logan and his warriors. And they know all about you coming here p>
He said.

“How much have you actually told them about me and Logan?” I asked.
“Enough that they are willing to help protect you.” He said, taking my bag off of my
shoulder and he led me inside the packhouse. 1
