LOGAN’S POV

I felt extremely satisfied as soon as I sentenced Jack to 10 years in prison. The whole pack was told that he was charged with sexual assault and that my warrior had caught him in the act. But because it’s a private situation, we never revealed the name of the victim. Otherwise they probably would never have been so happy about me sentencing him at all.
I wasn’t going to let him get away with what he did to Morgan. But then, Penelope announcing our engagement was just thrown in there.
I told her specifically that I didn’t want to tell anyone yet. But she didn’t seem to care. She couldn’t wait to announce to everyone that she was going to be their Luna. 2
And then the party. I never agreed to that. But I was backed into a corner. She’s gonna be sorry when everyone
leaves.
I looked up and I saw Morgan standing right at the back of the crowd with the most upsetting look on her face.
I wanted to run to her and tell her the truth. I wanted to tell her the reason behind everything. She knows about Penelope’s uncle and all that crap, but she doesn’t know the rest of it.
I saw Ace standing beside her, comforting her. And a slight growl started to ripple up from my chest.
Penelope walked over to grab my hand and she put her hand on my chest. She was the only one that heard me growl, and she looked at me with her wide innocent eyes. But lucky for me, I didn’t fall for that shit anymore. I knew that she was a scheming little bitch. She’ll do whatever she can to get her own way. She always has.
I wanted to be the one by Morgan, comforting her and telling her that everything was going to be alright. But she turned around and took off before I could get a chance to get her alone.
A lot more people from the pack started showing up and Penelope grabbed my hand and took me around the side of the packhouse where she already had people working to set up for this party.
Did she already plan this without me knowing?
“Levi. What the fuck?” I asked, walking up to him.
“She said that you two were engaged and as soon as she got back to the pack today she wanted a party. She told me to start getting everything ready. And you’ve been really distracted today so it was easy to get this done without you seeing.” Levi explained, really solemnly.
“You don’t look too happy about it.” I said.
“I’m not a fucking party planner. But she seems to think I am. I am your Beta. Can
you please explain that to her?” Levi asked.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it.” I said.
“What about Morgan?” He whispered.
“I have to tell her everything. She deserves to know everything.” I said.
“Alpha. She could get hurt if she knows the truth.” Levi said.
“I know. But I don’t have a choice. She was out there when Penelope made the announcement p>

“Wow. Morgan has really gotten to you. I knew you wouldn’t be able to keep her at arms length like you always said you would.” Levi smirked.
“It’s gotten more complicated than that.” I said. And Levi looked at me suspiciously.
“I spent the night with her last night.” I said. And he looked at me like a father would look at a child.
He actually looked disappointed in me.
“I know the whole pack hates Morgan and her mother, but we both know that it’s bullshit. They shouldn’t be treated the way that they are. And now you are messing with her like no one should. If you spent the whole night. then she knows what that means. And it wouldn’t surprise me if you just completely broke her.” Levi said.
“I know. I have to go and find her.” I said, turning around.
I started to walk away but Penelope quickly ran up and grabbed my arm.
“Where are you going? This is our engagement party. You aren’t going anywhere.” She insisted.
“Who the hell do you think you are? I told you that I didn’t want anyone to know about the engagement yet.” I growled through gritted teeth.
“If you speak to me like that again then you can forget about my uncle’s alliance.” Penelope said.
“Are you blackmailing me?” I asked.
“Call it what you want. But I will make sure that you’re life is a living hell and that your pack doesn’t see next year if you do anything to jeapardize it. You know how many friends my uncle has. And they will all be willing to help me take you and your pack out. You’re not very liked among the Alpha’s, Logan.” She said, straightening up her dress while she spoke. Like we were having a really friendly conversation, but it was anything but that. 2
