Chapter 62
“That’s because I don’t want you to call me Alpha.” He said.
“It’s the respectful thing to do. I was even calling Logan Alpha up until the day I left.” I said.
“Well, I am definitely not like Logan. And I don’t want you calling me Alpha. Alright?” He asked.
“Okay.” I said.
“Has there been any word from him?” Nathan asked.
“Last I heard, he was going to declare Morgan dead.” Ezra said.
“It was a trap. To see if I would take the bait. I have a feeling that he’s found my mother’s phone. She probably told him that I left it there for her.” I said.
“So, it’s possible that he has the phone?” Ezra asked.
“Yeah. I don’t know how to contact her now.” I said.
“Don’t worry. I’ll figure that out.” Ezra said.
“I don’t want her to think that I’m dead.” I said.
When dinner was finally served, we started eating together and talking about our day. They wanted to hear what I thought of college, and of course, it was everything that I expected and more. It was brilliant. I loved it.
We were interrupted by the back door opening and closing and then Owen and Jennifer walked into the dining
room.
“What are you doing here?” Ezra asked, leaning back on his chair.
“Can’t we have dinner with our sons?” Owen asked.
“There’s not enough food.” Nathan said.
“We called a head. The cook put two plates in the oven for us.” Jennifer said. And Ezra looked at me, looking very unpleased. 1
Jennifer sat on the other side of the table next to Nathan and Owen sat right next to me while Ezra was at the head of the table.
Their food was brought out and they started eating it like they hadn’t eaten for a while, but I knew that couldn’t be true. Even if Owen was an asshole, I knew that there’s no way the former Alpha of this pack would be going hungry.
And I don’t think Ezra would let them go hungry. No matter how much he hates them, they are still his parents.
“So, what have we missed?” Jennifer asked.
“Well, since this is the first time we’ve sat down and had a meal together in about a year. You’ve missed a lot.” Nathan said. Stating the obvious and his mother gave him an exacerbated look.
“Morgan. You look nice today. I see my sons are taking good care of you.” She said, looking me up and down.
“Yeah. You can say that.” I said.
“So, which one are you sleeping with?” Owen asked. And I turned to look at him.

“How many women are you sleeping with p>
“He’s mated.” Jennifer said.
“Then where’s your mark?” I asked. And Jennifer quickly used her hair to cover her neck.
“Why doesn’t she have a mark?” Ezra asked, looking at Owen.
“Because she doesn’t deserve one right now. I’ll remark her when she proves herself to be worthy.” Owen said, very arrogantly.
“Wow. What an asshole.” I said, looking back to my food.
“Who the hell do you think you are? You don’t get to walk in here and just start making assumptions.” Owen yelled in my face.
Ezra let out a growl that got all of our attention. And as soon as I looked at him, I saw that his eyes had changed color. They weren’t green anymore. They were black. His wolf was pushing forward.
“Don’t you dare speak to her like that in this house. In case you’ve forgotten, she’s welcome. You’re not.” Ezra said.
“What are you doing here anyway?” Nathan asked.
“We wanted to catch up with our sons? Is that such a problem?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah. It is. So get to the point. Why are you here?” Ezra demanded.
“Fine. We need your help. We’ve gotten into trouble and owe money to a pretty ruthless Alpha. We need help getting out of trouble.” Jennifer said.
“Which Alpha?” Ezra asked.
“Logan Abraham.” Owen said. And as he said that, I tried to control myself and my breathing.
I slowly turned to look at Ezra and he could tell that I was trying not to panic.
