Chapter 79
It took several days for Cory to get back to me and he had set up a meeting with his family. So Ezra, Nathan and Koda got ready and they all insisted on coming with me. They definitely weren’t going to let me go there alone.
We had to drive into neutral territory and we met up at a house that was not far from the pack, and it looked like an abandoned farmhouse.
We saw a few cars parked out the front and we got out, but Ezra insisted on standing in front of me.
When we walked inside we instantly heard everyone still in the other room, so we slowly made our way through to the kitchen area.
There were a lot of people there and the first person they saw was Ezra. But once their eyes landed on me, I was the only one that they would look at. They didn’t pay attention to anyone else.
“Please. Have a seat.” One of them said.
The whole room was set up with a large table and chairs all the way around it.
Ezra sat at one of the chairs and made sure that I sat beside him.
I saw him glaring at one girl and by her scent, I knew that she was a werewolf. She was obviously Ezra’s mate that rejected him for Cory.
“Morgan. This is my family. This is Cyrus, Sergio, Angelo, Holly, Caroline, Anya, Emma, Bonnie and Joseph.” Cory introduced.
Bonnie was the werewolf that had rejected Ezra. And I could feel him tense up whenever she touched Cory or he
touched her.
So I reached over under the table to hold his hand and I was surprised, he actually relaxed a bit when I did that.
“Well, I’m sure you know Ezra, Nathan and Koda.” I said.
“I’m surprised you didn’t bring the whole army.” Bonnie said, directed at Bonnie.
“I don’t need a whole army to kill you.” Ezra said.
“Alright. We’re not here to kill anyone. You people have information. I don’t want any more cryptic fucking messages that Cory has been giving me. I want the truth.” I said.
“You’re straight to the point.” Sergio said.
“Well, I think the sooner we get this meeting over with, the better it will be for everyone. Don’t you agree?” I
asked.
“I suppose so. How far along are you?” He asked.
“A few weeks.” I said.
“Werewolves are only pregnant for about four months, aren’t they?” He asked. “Something like that.” I said.
“You don’t have much time to prepare.” He said.
“We didn’t come here to talk about Morgan or the baby. Now, what is this bullshit about her being a prophet?”

Ezra asked.
“Right. The book of prophecies. It was created years ago by seers. They could see the future. They knew what was going to happen, centuries ahead. Way beyond their time.” He said, pulling out a book.
“Oh great. Another fucking book.” I said.
“Another book?” He asked.
“I’m already reading the history of Logan’s pack. I know that one of my ancestors was the Alpha. That doesn’t mean shit to me. Packs change hands all the time.” I said.
“That pack only changed hands with your grandfather.” Sergio said.
“What?” I asked.
“Your dad’s dad. That’s why your father was made the head warrior and that’s why Logan’s father killed him.” Cory said.
“My father died protecting the Alpha.” I said.
“No. He didn’t. That’s just what they wanted you to think. Your mother knows the truth. She just couldn’t tell you. But that’s why she wasn’t happy with you being mated to Logan.” Cory said.
“She never said anything. I waited to tell her that I was mated to Logan because I knew that she hated the Alpha family. It was because of the way they treated us after dad died.”
“Your mother knows the truth. Logan’s father killed your father. Thinking that he would try and reclaim the pack. And your mother would be weakened by her mate’s death. And you would never know any differently. Except you are stronger than an omega.” Cyrus explained.
“I’m stronger than an omega because I actually have Alpha blood?” I asked.,
“Yes. And Logan’s reign of terror is over. You are meant to reclaim that pack.” Cory said.
“What if I don’t want to?” I asked. And all the vampires looked at me weird.
“What?” He asked, confused.
“What if I’m happy being away from that pack. I have never had an interest in being an Alpha. I don’t want to be an Alpha. I am going to college, I am getting a degree, I am having a baby and I want to pretend like I was never mated to Logan at all.” I explained.
