I had to get up a couple more times with Aiden that night, and that caused me to sleep in.
We were woken up by someone at the door though and I looked up to see Nathan leaning against the doorframe, smiling at me.
I felt Ezra’s arm over my waist and his breath on my neck. So I knew that he was pressed right up behind me.
“If you’re not here for anything important then get the fuck out.” I said, putting my head back down.
“Actually, I just went to my brother’s room looking for him. He wasn’t there so I thought I would come in here and see if you’d see him. Apparently you have.” He smirked.
“Nathan. Fuck off.” Ezra mumbled.
“There you go. You heard it from the Alpha.” I said, not putting my head back up. I was barely able to open my eyes again.
“Alright. You three enjoy being a happy little family in here. I’ll go and help Koda with pack business.” He said, closing the door and walking out.
“I think I’m gonna start to regret this.” I said.
“Don’t worry. I can kick him out.” Ezra said.
“Okay.” I said.
When Ezra and I actually got up for the day, I couldn’t have even been bothered to get changed. So I stayed in my pajamas all day.
I was just doing little things around the house between taking care of Aiden. I was getting really exhausted at this point, but when my phone rang I looked at the caller ID and I growled slightly.
“Who is it?” Ezra asked.
“I’ll give you one fucking guess.” I said, before I answered the phone. “What do you want Cory?” I asked.
“Did you have a chance to look over that paperwork?” He asked.
“Yeah. I did.” I said.
“Alright. When are you going to take over Logan’s pack?” He asked,
“When I actually find something that I can believe in.” I said.
“What are you talking about?” He asked.
“Joseph isn’t the only computer hacker. And the information that I found proves that the army has no clue where any wolf packs are. Whatever game you’re playing, play
it somewhere else. Because I’m not fucking interested right now. Leave me alone.” I said, hanging up.
“Nicely done.” Ezra said.
“That guy is really starting to piss me off.” I said.
“Yeah. Me too. How often has he been sneaking onto pack grounds?” Ezra asked.
“That was the first time. And you know about all the other times I’ve seen him. I always went away from the

“Yeah. Well, he better not make a fucking habit of that.”
“Hey, do you still have contact in Logan’s pack?” I asked.
“Yeah. Why?” He asked.
“I just want someone to check up on mom.” I said.
“Okay. You want a new update?” He asked.
“I’m probably being stupid. We have been getting your contact to check on her every few weeks. But I hate that she’s in the packhouse. And I know that Penelope will
only put up with that for so long.” I said.
“Yeah. I know that. I’ll call now.” He said.
“Thanks.” I said.
So he went to his office to call his contact and it didn’t take him long to come back out of the office.
“Alright. A lot of shit has happened. Your mother is fine. And you don’t need to worry about Penelope hurting her.” Ezra said.
“Why not? She’s married to the Alpha and she hates me.” I said.
“I know. But apparently the word is, the Alpha and Luna don’t have a conventional relationship.” He said.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“They haven’t marked each other and apparently Penelope has been going out with her friends every night. To bars in the human town because that’s where they get the most attention. And Penelope has been hooking up, left right and center.” He said.
“She’s cheating on Logan?” I asked.
“That’s the unconventional marriage. They don’t have sex. At all.” Ezra said.
“Which means, there’s no way she’s going to give birth to his heir. If he finds out about Aiden, he’s going to take him from me.” I said.
“And I will fight him to the death before he takes that baby.” Ezra said, firmly, looking me in the eye so I knew that he was serious and he was never going to let anything happen to Aiden. More importantly, he just told me that he would die for my son.
