FIVE YEARS LATER 1
I walked out of the bathroom of the master bedroom in the morning after showering and washing my long blonde hair and I walked into the wardrobe to get dressed in a black and purple sports top, matching tights, socks and sand shoes.
I pulled my hair back, revealing the mark on my neck in the shape of a rose wrapped around a wolf and then I walked downstairs to the dining room.
“Mom. Would you tell dad to stop it? He’s teasing me.” Aiden screeched. “Dad. It’s too early in the morning for this much noise.” I said.
“I wasn’t teasing him. I just simply told him that he’s a butthead.” Ezra said.
“You do realize that you’re about the same age as him.” I said, leaning down and kissing the baby girl that was in the high chair next to Ezra.
“I do realize that. And it’s fun playing with him like this.” Ezra said.
“I’m not playing.” Aiden screamed.
“Alright. That’s enough from both of you. Otherwise you can both sleep outside with the dogs tonight.” I said.
“Don’t you mean wolves?” Aiden asked.
“Same thing.” I said, glaring at Ezra and he looked at me shocked that I would refer to them as dogs.
“Alright. Mom’s spoken. Truce?” Ezra asked, putting his hand out.
“Fine. Truce.” Aiden said, shaking his hand.
When breakfast came out and gave us our breakfast.
“So, what have you got to do today?” Ezra asked.
“I don’t actually have anything planned. So, Savannah and I are going to go for a walk around the pack and take photos. Put my photography degree to good use.” I said.
“That sounds like a plan.” Ezra said.
“I want to come. Why do I have to go to school?” Aiden asked.
“Because I said so.” I said.
“Spoken like a true mother.” He said.
“Well, it’s better than calling him a butthead.” I scoffed.
“I can see the lovely family is already at it.” Leah stated coming into the room.
“Well, they are.” I said, nodding to the boys.
“Yeah. But we don’t really expect anything less. Do we?” She asked.
“No. Not really.” I said.

“Alright. I better get to work. I’ll be around the packhouse today if you need anything Luna.” She said.
“Thank you Leah.” I said.
As soon as breakfast was over Ezra left to take Aiden to school and he gave myself and Savannah, his daughter, a kiss before he left.
I cleaned six-month-old Savannah up from breakfast and I changed her clothes.
I put her in the stroller near the front door and we walked outside and towards town.
“Morning Luna.” A woman greeted me.
“Good morning.” I said.
“Morning Luna.” A man said as he passed me.
“Morning.” I said.
I was obviously getting used to this sort of treatment. This pack had welcomed me and my son with open arms and when they found out that I was Ezra’s second chance mate, they were more than ecstatic for him. They were over the moon. They all saw what it was like for him to get rejected by his first mate, and be passed over for a vampire.
So when they realized that I wasn’t going to do that, they were so happy to welcome me and they have been terrific towards me ever since.
It took me a really long time to get used to that sort of treatment.
I wasn’t used to it at that point, but I definitely am getting used to it.
It feels like I’m friends with every member in the pack, and even though it did take a long time, I’ve gotten to know all of their names. And I have insisted that they treat me like one of their own and not their Luna which is why they’re not scared to come up and say hello to me.
I did want them to call me by my first name, but that one never seemed to stick.
They also welcomed my son with welcome arms. Even though he’s not Ezra’s, they are treating him like the heir of this pack. And Ezra has accepted his as the next heir of this pack.
Savannah and I managed to find our way to the edge of town. The one spot that I was looking for and I managed to get the stroller through the woods a little way until we stopped at a stream.
Savannah was asleep by now, so I put a blanket over the top of her stroller so the sun wouldn’t bother her, and I got in the proper location and I stopped to take photos of the scenery.
