Chapter 92
Logan was looking between myself and Ezra, trying to make sense of what Ezra had just said. Almost like it was impossible for him to wrap his mind around.
“Ezra. The army is moving in on wolf packs. Put your canines away.” I said.
Ezra looked at me, he scanned me over to make sure that I was alright and then his canines retracted and he stepped away from the car.
He slammed the door shut and he walked past Logan and up onto the veranda to where I was.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah. He didn’t hurt me.” I assured him.
“I had people checking your pack and the college near your pack.” Logan said, still standing near the car downstairs.
“Oh, you mean those scouts. Yeah, they were fun to play with. Especially dodging them while trying to get to class.” I chuckled.
“She got pretty good at it towards the end.” Ezra said.
“You were at that college?” Logan asked.
“You knew that I wanted to go to college. At least this way I didn’t have to worry about you breathing down my neck the whole time.” I said, looking at Logan.
“And now you two are together?” Logan asked.
“She’s my mate and my Luna. My pack has accepted her and they love her. You have no standing here. And you can’t keep her here. Otherwise the council will be hearing about this. I believe if a wolf tries to keep mates apart then that’s punishable by death.” Ezra said.
“It’s alright. He’s married. Remember.” I said.
“Oh yeah. How is that going?” Ezra asked. But he just glared at us.
I finished my cigarette and went back inside and Ezra followed me. Logan was right behind and I went to the living
room.
I saw a wedding photo over the fireplace in the living room and Penelope was in the most outrageous wedding dress that was actually white and pink with way too much detail and way too much of everything.
The makeup was too thick and her fake fingernails were so long that she wouldn’t have even been able to use her fingers for anything. Someone would have had to cut up her meat for her.
But then I looked at Logan and he wasn’t smiling at all. I actually felt sorry for him for a moment, but it passed pretty quickly. Especially when I heard the familiar sound of those high heels on the marble floor as they were coming down the hallway.
“Oh great.” I said exasperated as I turned around.
Penelope stopped as soon as she got to the doorway and her face dropped as soon as she saw me standing there.
“What the fuck is that pathetic little omega rogue doing here?” Penelope asked.

“You will address my mate as Luna. Nothing less.” Ezra warned her.
“Luna. You’re a Luna?” She asked.
“And I can see that you’re not. You two have been married for five years and there’s
still no mark on either of your necks. That’s pretty sad.” I said.
“I’m going out.” Penelope said, turning around and leaving.
“Where’s your mother?” Ezra asked.
“She’s upstairs. I’ve already seen her. She’s sleeping now.” I said.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Dad’s death has finally caught up to her.” I said.
“Damn it. I’m really sorry.” He said.
“Thanks. I want you to meet her when she wakes up.” I said.
“Yeah. Of course.” He said.
“Excuse me. Can we please just focus on something else for a minute please?” Logan asked.
“What?” I asked.
“The impending war. The army knows where the wolf packs are. They are coming to take us out.” Logan said.
“Wow. Is that actually happening?” Ezra asked.
“Yeah. That’s why this place looks like a ghost town, apparently. They are hiding from the army and their drones and all that shit.” I said.
