The nearest thug was launched backward like a ragdoll. “Hold on tight!” Her voice cut through the wind as she yanked the wheel, the sports car swinging in a clean arc across the pavement. Tires shrieked under the sudden force.

“Vermilion Stalker…” Her grip on the wheel tightened as the words slipped out.
This was from the batch of goods stolen from her after the recent maritime exchange — a high-precision sniper rifle.
The most terrifying aspect of this gun was its unique design. Upon impact, the bullet split into six blade-like shards, creating lethal internal wounds that couldn’t be surgically removed, with shrapnel-like destructive power.
“Hold on tight!” Rylie shouted, slamming the accelerator. The sports car’s engine roared like a wild beast.
She didn’t plan to give the shooter a second to line up. If he fired first, they wouldn’t make it.
A flash lit up the night. The SUV’s gunman had already pulled the trigger, but Rylie twisted the wheel fast. The bullet scraped past them, striking the side with a metallic spark.
