Rylie handed the one and a half million back to Brad. “Lucky for you, you won’t have to lose everything and depend on me for a living.”
Brad let out a soft sigh. “What a pity.”
He hesitated, then asked, “Why did you lie to me? Why didn’t you tell me you would come to such a place?”
Rylie offered him a drink, her tone casual. “A college girl gambling in a casino isn’t exactly something to brag about. I kept it quiet for a reason.”
Brad took the drink and grinned. “Who taught you? Your sleight of hand was almost impossible to spot.”
“Didn’t you notice?” Rylie replied with a teasing smile.
“It’s just a personal interest,” Rylie answered, keeping things vague. “Now that everything’s settled, go ahead and finish your drink. At your age, you should really take things slower.”
Brad’s hand froze mid-motion at her remark, his eyes narrowing with a flicker of danger. “You can’t size me up just by appearances.”
Rylie tilted her head slightly. “Oh?”
Her mind briefly drifted elsewhere, but Brad’s gaze shifted naturally toward a specific booth on the second floor. His voice lowered. “This isn’t as straightforward as it looks. Ever since you started this gambling game, you’ve attracted attention, at least from two separate factions. Who did you provoke recently?”
Rylie sighed to herself. As expected of the famed maritime tactician, Brad could still spot hidden threats even in a place as chaotic as this. One faction was her men, and as for the other…
She already knew exactly who was behind it. Tonight’s elaborate trap had been set to lure them out, and finally face the casino’s elusive boss.
“I’m not entirely sure, but the Owen family arranged for bodyguards. I won’t run into any trouble.” Rylie set her glass down. “I’m heading to the restroom.”
Brad watched her retreating figure, deep in thought. Rylie seemed shrouded in mystery. It was likely she had orchestrated tonight’s events on purpose. He decided to stay hidden in the shadows and observe her intentions, knowing that with his men surrounding the casino outside, her safety was assured.

Rylie had been intercepted on her way to the restroom and brought to this secluded room.
Black Tiger lived up to his name, tall, imposing, and radiating danger. His presence alone made it clear he was no stranger to bloodshed.
“Quite bold of you, young lady, to tamper with games in my casino,” Black Tiger said, his rough fingers slowly tracing the barrel of his pistol. The cold metal caught the light with a quiet threat.
He narrowed his eyes, studying Rylie as if evaluating prey. “You’ve got talent, I’ll give you that. Hand over the money, and I’ll let this go. In fact, I’ll make you an offer: join my casino as a pro gambler. You do what you do best, I provide the tables, and we split the earnings down the middle. How does that sound?”
