shakes her head. “But my point is, things happen in life that we don’t plan for. It doesn’t mean we

“But he killed your mom,” I say hesitantly.

“Exactly! Now get some rest,” she says, pulling the duvet over me. I smile and snuggle down into it,
feeling a lot better, but he’s still not home, and that’s beginning to worry me…
