of cash, tossing it onto the table in front of her. She instantly sits forward and grabs it, her heart racing.

she tries to run.

Her eyes grow even wider before she smirks. “You? You have a woman?” She laughs, but seeing me
stare at her, she shuts up pretty fast. “Damn.. congratulations. I’m glad you got your life on track… I
thought you died with Gaultier until you showed up a year ago.”
We fall silent, and I open the first folder, refusing to talk about the past.

“No. But she’s smart and hot.” It’s strange to talk like this, to people who think I
