Welcome to Hell

Chapter 29

I didn’t care what they did with it.

I walked down the corridor, descending the steps of the cafeteria with steady strides, feeling the prisoners‘ stares burning from behind their bars.

The silence was almost tangible–a mute acknowledgment that death had visited this block once again.

As I spotted a guard ahead, I made a quick gesture with my hand.

“Bring two bandages and ointment to my cell p>

He nodded without question and disappeared down the hall.

I continued my path, planning to head straight for the bathroom, but my patience was tested once more.

The rookie.

The dumbass who thinks he’s in charge.

“What are you doing out of your cell, Reaper? ”

The arrogance in his voice dripped like

Jenom, but all it did was piss me off.

I rolled my eyes, letting out an annoyed sigh.

“None of your fucking business. ”

His face turned red with fury, lips parting to spit out some provocation.

Fatal mistake.

Before he could utter a single word, I lunged, grabbing his neck and lifting him into the air like a rag doll.

His body twisted immediately, hands clawing at my wrist, trying in vain to break my crushing grip.

The panic in his eyes was almost funny.

He kicked at the air until one boot hit my leg. I felt nothing but irritation.

My fingers tightened around his throat.

‘Don’t test me, you piece of shit p>

The threat came out low and cold, soaked in disdain.

I felt his frantic pulse beneath my palm, beating like a cornered animal’s.

“You think you run anything here? You don’t run a fucking thing p>

He tried to say something, but only raspy, broken sounds came from his crushed throat.

I leaned in, letting him smell the fresh blood still on my lips.

“You better watch yourself,” I said firmly, my eyes drilling into his. “Because if you keep pretending to be king around here, your head will roll.

His arms flailed, fingers twitching in sheer desperation. His face turned purple, tears leaking involuntarily

Pathetic.

with a bored sigh, I dropped him, slamming his body into the wall. The impact echoed down the corridor before he collapsed like a useless sack of meat.

He coughed violently, choking as he tried to catch his breath.

Without bothering to look back, I walked off toward my wing.

In the bathroom, I placed the clean uniform on the sink and stripped off the one I was wearing–now drenched in blood.

I stepped under the hot water, letting it wash away the remnants of the fight. The heat relaxed my tense muscles, though my mind remained sharp, pulsing with satisfaction over what I’d just done.

The shower was quick. No reason to drag it out. I brushed my teeth, dried off, and slipped into the new black uniform. This time, I left my hair down, letting it fall freely over my shoulders.

When I returned to my cell, one of the guards was already waiting with bandages and ointment. I took the items without a word and stepped inside.

The door shut behind me with a dull thud.

My gaze landed on the bed.

Elijah was asleep.

Small.

Vulnerable.

A faint smile tugged at my lips as I approached. I sat at the edge of the bed, my fingers brushing gently across his face. The warmth of his skin beneath my touch tightened something in my chest.

Soft.

So incredibly soft.

His chest rose and fell in a calm rhythm, his breathing slow and steady. His long lashes fluttered slightly, like he was trapped in some distant dream.

I watched every detail, every little involuntary movement. Even in sleep, he was hypnotizing.

I took the ointment and dabbed it carefully onto the wound, then applied the bandage. My possession had to be flawless. Then, I did the same for my own cut, covering the mark left by the fight with Dog.

After putting the items away, I pulled the curtain across the cell, sealing off our private world. I lay down beside him and pulled him into me, breathing in the soft scent of his hair.

So sweet.

So perfect.

“ Sleep well, bunny p>

I whispered, closing my eyes.

And, for the first time that day, allowing myself to rest.
