Chapter 35

Elijah Vaughn

‘Disappointed, little brother p>

The taunt was cruel–dripping with satisfaction.

“You did everything for our parents, and what did you get in return? Nothing p>

His laughter sliced through the air like a blade.

“They never asked about you. Never cared how you were. They took down your pictures and threw your stuff away. To them, you’re dead.

It hit like a punch to the gut.

The air left my lungs.

The world seemed to lose its color.

“They chose to believe some girl they barely knew instead of their own son p>

He laughed again–louder, crueler.

“And God, it’s beautiful watching you fall apart p>

The rage burned like wildfire.

My fists trembled from how tightly I clenched them.

“You’re a fucking bastard, David p>

He smiled.

“Yeah. And you know what else?‘ His eyes sparkled with pure malice. “While you’re rotting in here, I’m taking real good care of your ex p>

My heart stopped for a second.

“What p>

“She was easy to manipulate. So needy. So naïve. I turned her against you, and guess what p>

He leaned in, that sick grin widening.

‘She loved fucking me. Every night p>

The air grew thick–impossible to breathe.

“And there’s more p>

He spoke low, like sharing a filthy, venomous secret.

‘I’m gonna be a dad p>

The world froze.

My mind refused to process the words.

Chapter 35

My ears rang, like my body was trying to shield me from the truth.

But there was no escaping it.

I had already lost everything.

My family.

My life.

My future.

And now he was shoving it in my face – as if I had never mattered. As if my pain was some kind of trophy.

My chest burned.

Something inside me snapped–an invisible crack that tore through the last pieces of my sanity.

My heart raced.

My blood boiled.

The ground gave way beneath me.

Before I could even think, my feet moved on their own.

I jumped over the table and tackled him to the floor with everything I had.

The impact echoed through the room, but all I could hear was the sound of my own fury exploding through my fists.

‘YOU FUCKING BASTARD p>

The scream tore from my throat–raw, hoarse, drenched in fury.

My fist slammed into his face without mercy.

“YOU RUINED MY LIFE! YOU PIECE OF SHIT! I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU p>

Each blow fed the pain eating me alive.

Each punch was a desperate attempt to claw away the emptiness inside me.

Blood stained my fingers, splattered the floor–but all I saw was the face I hated more than anything.

“YOU DESTROYED EVERYTHING!” I shouted, unleashing years of rage and betrayal.

Another punch.

Another impact.

His skin split under my fists,

His nose cracked with a satisfying snap.

David tried to raise his arms to defend himself–but it was useless.

My fury was stronger.

Chapter 35

My pain was louder.

My nails dug into his shirt as I kept punching, Ignoring his groans of pain.

Hatred was all I could feel.

Then brutal hands tore me off him.

I thrashed, tried to break free, but the grip was too strong p>

“LET ME GO!” My voice came out strangled–wild. ‘I’LL KILL

David was coughing up blood, his face ruined by the blows–but the bastard was still smiling.

He knew

He knew he’d won.

That smug expression, even with blood dripping from his mouth, made something inside me detonate.

“RUN, DAVID p>

My voice echoed down the corridor as the guards dragged me away.

“PRAY I NEVER GET OUT OF HERE! BECAUSE WHEN I DO… I’M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU! ”

A violent punch slammed into my stomach.

The blow folded me in half, pain ripping through every nerve in my body.

Bile rose up in my throat as the guards threw me into solitary like garbage.

The door slammed shut with a thunderous metallic echo.

And then … silence.

Darkness swallowed me whole.

Pain throbbed in every inch of my body–but nothing compared to the agony ripping me apart

My chest felt crushed, as if an invisible chain was tightening around my ribs.

Breathing came in shallow, broken gasps, like the air just wasn’t enough.

The tears started to fall–hot, burning, uncontrollable.

At first, they were silent.

Heavy drops slid down my chin, hitting the dirty concrete floor.

But as the weight of reality sank in, the despair took over.

The sobs came–deep, suffocating–my body trembling violently.

inside.

I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to hold in the spasms that made my chest heave with the desperate effort to stay in control.

But it was useless.

Chapter 35

The emptiness inside me was a gaping hole, a dark cavern where David’s voice echoed cruelly.

“They never asked about you p>

They threw your things away.

“To them, you’re dead p>

My nails dug into the skin of my arms, a silent cry for something–anything–to remind me I was still here. Still real.

But all I felt was pain.

I choked on my own sobs, each one turning into ragged gasps.

My body shook, knees pressed against the cold floor.

The betrayal burned more than any punch I’d ever taken.

I had always done everything right.

I’d tried to be a good son. A good brother. A good boyfriend.

But none of it mattered.

I was discarded.

Like trash.

My throat tightened so much that breathing became almost impossible.

I slammed my forehead against the concrete wall behind me, eyes squeezed shut, trying to silence the thoughts. To block out the cruel truth that repeated in my head like a vicious cycle.

“They never asked about you p>

Another sob slipped out.

Then another.

And another.

Until my voice broke completely.

My chest rose and fell in frantic rhythm, my heartbeat pounding so hard it echoed in my ears.

The bitter taste of bile still lingered in my mouth, mixed, with the salt of my tears.

Everything inside me was screaming.

Anger.

Pain.

Desperation.

I curled into the cold wall, arms wrapped around my body in a useless reflex of self– defense.

My breathing was ragged, like the air was being stolen from my lungs.

Chapter 35

My throat burned–dry, torn apart by screams and sobs I couldn’t hold back.

My knuckles were raw, my fists still aching from the blows I’d thrown.

But none of it mattered.

Nothing eased the suffocating weight pressing down on me.

My chest ached–an unbearable pressure crushing every part of who I was.

My head slumped against the wall, eyes lost in the pitch black of the cell.

And then, without meaning to, my voice slipped out–broken.

“Why, God?” My lips trembled.

The knot in my throat tightened even more.

“Why did this happen to me?” The words barely came out–hoarse, fragile.

A question with no answer.

“I always tried to be good p>

My eyes closed, letting the tears fall freely.

“Why p>

The sobs turned into muffled cries as I pressed my fists against my eyes, trying to stop the flood, but it was no use.

My body couldn’t hold it in anymore.

David had won.

He destroyed everything I was.

And me?

I was thrown into hell p>

Forgotten by everyone.
