Chapter 38

Dante Castelli.

Not after understanding there’s no way out for him. Or has he still not learned?

If he’s playing games with me, if he thinks he can test me… oh, little bunny, you’re going to learn the hard way.

The air feels heavy in my lungs, a dark heat spreading through my chest.

My heart pounds, but it’s not anxiety–it’s a fierce, primal instinct.

If he ran from me, if he tried to hide, I swear…

I clenched my fists, spun on my heels, and stormed out again.

My footsteps echoed down the corridor as I moved toward the cafeteria, my eyes scanning the room.

A few inmates were eating calmly, chatting like nothing was wrong–as if my patience wasn’t hanging by a thread.

He’s not here.

My jaw tightened.

Something’s wrong.

I pushed through the cafeteria and into the kitchen.

Nothing.

No sign of him.

The air grew heavier in my lungs.

Where the hell is he?

My blood boiled.

My heart raced in my chest, pumping adrenaline.

Did someone dare to touch what’s mine?

Every muscle in my body tensed violently.

Did some prisoner take advantage of my absence? Lay a hand on him?

F**k.

The world around me seemed to narrow.

My breathing turned harsh and fast, every fiber of my being consumed by unbearable urgency.

If someone laid a hand on him… if someone hurt him… I’ll kill them.

I don’t care who it was.

I left the kitchen like a predator on the hunt, eyes locked on the corridors, searching for any sign.

Chapter 38

My heart thundered with a savage rhythm.

He’s too weak.

He couldn’t defend himself alone.

I need to find him. Now

My footsteps pounded down the hallway, my eyes scanning every corner of this damn prison.

My chest rose and fell in a frantic rhythm, breath ragged, every cell in my body pulsing with brutal urgency.

I checked the laundry area.

Nothing.

I checked the storage rooms where they keep the uniforms.

No sign.

My heart slammed against my ribs like a sledgehammer.

Anger mixed with the unbearable fear of losing him crawled into my every thought, driving me to the edge of madness.

F**k, where the hell is he?

I spotted a guard and charged like a predator about to shred its prey.

“Where is my boy?!” My voice boomed like thunder, dripping with menace.

The bastard flinched, eyes wide with sheer terror.

He swallowed hard before stammering, ‘I–I… I don’t know, sir p>

My jaw locked tight, fury pulsing under my skin like molten embers.

Despair hit me hard, a primal fear I wasn’t used to feeling.

My mind flooded with terrifying possibilities–each one worse than the last.

F**k… what if they took him from me?

What if some bastard laid hands on him?

What if they tried to rape him, destroy him, or rip him apart?

What if his body is lying somewhere filthy, bloody, lifeless?

My chest tightened like an invisible weight was crushing it.

Wasting no more time, I took off down the corridors.

My shoulders slammed into other inmates, but didn’t care.

Nothing else mattered.

I burst into the infirmary, my chest tight, throat dry, and eyes wild.

Chapter 38

Fear screamed inside me.

But he wasn’t there.

No trace.

Nothing.

My hands clenched into fists, knuckles nearly cracking from the force.

The air felt like it was being sucked out of the room, suffocating me.

“F**k, where are you, Elijah?! ”

My chest burned, lungs heaving, but it wasn’t the exertion–it was the despair.

If anyone dared touch what’s mine, I swear… I swear this place will become a living hell of blood and pain.

No one will leave here alive.

I ran a hand through my messy hair, heart pounding, muscles tight with pure tension.

I’ve never run for anyone.

I’ve never cared about anyone’s life.

But Elijah…

Elijah isn’t just anyone.

He’s my obsession.

My addiction.

The thought of losing him stirs something cruel in me, something that refuses to let go.

F**k! Fox.

I turned sharply on my heels and shot down the corridor, my steps thundering against the floor as my mind burned.

If anyone knows anything, it’s that bastard.

I climb the stairs without slowing down, my footsteps echoing like thunder through the narrow hallways.

My blood is boiling, each breath a sharp blade slicing through the silence around me.

As soon as I reach Fox’s cell, I notice the bars slightly ajar.

I don’t think.

I walk in without hesitation.

Inside, he’s kissing Tony– my right–hand man.

They break apart with a jolt.

“ My lord… Tony mutters, but I ignore him.

Chapter 38

My eyes lock on Fox, who shrinks back, pale as a ghost,

Where is he? I snarl, my voice laced with threat. “Where is Elijah p>

He swallows hard, fear written all over his face.

*H–He was taken by the guard… he stammers, breath shaky.

Rage explodes inside me.

My fist clenches before I even realize, and in a swift motion, I punch the metal bunk, shaking the entire frame.

AND WHY THE FUCK p>

“H–He had a visitor…” he blurts quickly, like it might save him.

My eyes narrow, murderous.

In a flash, my hand is at his throat, fingers pressing down hard enough to choke him.

“Which guard p>

He trembles.

His mouth opens, but the words hesitate.

“G–Guard Nick p>

I release his neck with a violent shove, sending him collapsing onto the bed as my body’s already moving before he can recover.

Nick.

That bastard.
