Back at the mansion, thinking about everything that had happened these past few days, I sobbed my heart out under the covers.
Only when my emotions had settled did I get up.
This was no time for grief, my brother and my mother were both waiting for me.
I will not let Ronan and Juniper off the hook. I will make them pay!
After gathering my important documents, I casually packed a couple of outfits.
Then I picked up a hammer and walked towards the living room.
The next second, I ruthlessly brought the hammer down hard on our wedding portrait in the living room.
All the little handcrafted decorations Ronan and I had made together.
The little ceramic figures he gave me that symbolized our love.
And, on every anniversary, the jewelry, the gifts, the jar of folded paper stars he made for me by hand.
Everything, I destroyed it all until nothing was left.
By the time I stopped, the mansion had already been reduced to a ruin.
It was at this exact moment that Ronan came home.
He looked at the chaotic mess of the mansion, his brow deeply furrowed.
And when he saw me standing in the middle of the wreckage, his eyes filled with heartache.
He took a step forward and pulled me directly into his arms.
“Cora, I know you’re hurting. Just cry it out in my arms. It’s all my fault. I don’t know when those photos got out. Maybe… if you don’t drop the lawsuit, Juniper has other tricks up her sleeve. I’m so, so sorry p>
Looking at the obvious hickeys on the back of his neck, and the scent of Juniper’s perfume that clung to him.
I felt like I was going to be sick.
That niche perfume was a birthday gift I had even given to Juniper myself!
They were playing me for an absolute fool.
At that thought, I couldn’t hold back any longer. I shoved Ronan away and said with a sarcastic tone.
“To think there’s someone in New York City with more power than you. If I’d known, I never should have married you! I would have saved myself from this mess. You useless man p>
I looked at him, speaking each word with deliberate slowness.
The expression on Ronan’s face instantly turned ugly.

Seeing his pained and humiliated look, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
He and Juniper had orchestrated everything together.
And yet he still had the audacity to play the innocent victim in front of me. It was disgusting!
I wanted to say more.
But Ronan’s phone rang, and he eagerly answered Juniper’s call.
Then, without a backward glance, he walked out of the mansion.
“Cora, calm down. Contact me when you’re ready to drop the lawsuit early. Otherwise, who knows what will happen in four days. You don’t want something like the private photos happening again, do you p>
His words were laced with a threat as he walked without hesitation toward Juniper’s place.
I roared in anger, “Ronan Prescott! If you leave right now, I will never forgive you! I will hate you p>
Ronan’s body paused for a moment, then he continued walking outside without any hesitation.
I couldn’t stop myself from chasing after him.
Just as I stepped out the door, a masked person suddenly walked toward me.
I screamed Ronan’s name, but he left without even a glance back.
In the last second before I blacked out, the last thing I saw was Ronan’s cold, indifferent back.
