But in our seventh year of marriage, he fell for some young church girl, spending every day at chapel with her.
Then one day my father was bleeding out from a car accident. I reached out to Declan to help find rare blood donors.
That girl blocked the doorway, sneering.
“God says you and your father both deserve to die p>
I called Declan. His voice was ice cold.
“Your dad outlived my mother by years-his time’s up. This time I’m following God’s will p>
His mother… So that death seven years ago had been eating at him all this time.
So that every day he spent with me was just him counting down to his revenge.
I laughed softly, grabbed the girl by the throat, and dragged her up to the rooftop.

The moment he finished speaking, I crushed Ruby’s sixth finger right in front of him.
Ruby had already screamed herself hoarse.
She writhed in agony, sobbing uncontrollably.

Her crying immediately made Declan frantic.
“Raven Cross! I told you to let her go! Don’t you want to save your father p>
I froze for a moment and released my grip.

Declan’s worried gaze fell on Ruby.
He gently comforted her with a soft “wait for me,” then left the rooftop.
Watching Declan’s retreating figure, Ruby trembled but smiled.
“Even if my hands are ruined, Declan still likes me. Unlike you-you’re just some psycho freak p>
“You know what? The night Declan took my virginity, he was crying, saying he hated you for killing his mother. You’re nothing but a filthy, disgusting murderer p>
My mind went blank.
Through the searing pain, I remembered that day seven years ago when I stopped all the doctors from trying to save Declan’s mother.
That day he begged me-begged until the surgical lights went out, begged until they covered his mother’s face with a white sheet.
I asked him:
“Do you hate me p>
If he had said yes, just once, I would have explained everything to him, then gladly gone to prison.
But he shook his head.
I actually believed him-believed he didn’t hate me.
Seeing my resolve waver, Ruby’s expression grew even more smug.
She used her few remaining good fingers to flip me off.
“Raven, you’re literally barren as hell. You should really take some lessons p>
She dramatically widened her eyes.
“Oh wait, sorry! I almost forgot-you already got passed around like a party favor p>
Ruby laughed contemptuously, but within three seconds, her voice cut off abruptly.
I gripped the knife, aimed it at her throat, and slashed down hard.
