Angela’s POV
A gentle knock resounded in my room right before Lcould lie down on my bed. I hadn’t even taken in the thoughts of being back in the Alpha’s mansion or the news of my pregnancy. The room had been redecorated to my taste, thanks to Darius, I guess. I loved what they did with the painting and the curtains.
The knock came again and I almost cursed under my breath. It wasn’t Darius at the other end of the door Because of my wolf’s reappearance, my sense of smell was having a kick or maybe it was because of the pregnancy.
I opened the door and put a fake smile on my face instead of a frown.

I took a deep breath and opened the door for her to come in. She walked into the room and took a seat on the couch. I took a seat on the stool.

“I know! I’m not really his past. I was just an in–between. I was collateral damage for my father’s stupidity, but I was glad that I was forcefully married to Darius and not someone else. He’s my friend and he’s always been. I didn’t tell you I knew him because I didn’t want to plant any seed of doubt in you. I thought it would be foolish of me to disclose that and someone will find out in case the room was bugged and we’ll both be in danger p>

I took a deep breath. I didn’t know if I should believe her but her words sounded convincing enough.

I shrugged. It wasn’t that hard telling her the truth. I couldn’t possibly hate someone who saved my life. I just didn’t trust her enough to get close to her.

I whispered right before she opened the door and left the room.
Since I couldn’t sleep anymore, I also left the room to check up on Reina. I found Darius in her room, he was holding her drawing book with confusion written on his face.
Reina looked up once I walked in and I could see the tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong Rabes?” Darius walked up to me before I could get to them.
“ She knows,” he whispered.
