Shock and terror filled Alexander’s eyes as well.

He smiled, lifted the ax, and swung it straight at Alexander.
He moved far too fast.
Alexander’s eyes flew open, and his body locked in place.

The ax came down.
It passed straight through Alexander’s body without leaving a mark.
Alexander froze, then burst into wild laughter. “Hahaha! I get it now. I’m already a ghost p>
Mary recovered as well, her fear melting away. She sneered, “Didn’t expect that, did you? We may be dead, but we’ve become vengeful spirits p>
Dominic glanced at the ax and frowned.
Alexander sneered, “Mom, our misfortune turned into a blessing p>
“Exactly. We’re vengeful spirits now. We can take revenge. First, we scare that little bastard, then deal with them slowly. Not just them, but the entire Grant family of Skyline City too….” Mary’s voice trembled with excitement.
Dominic’s gaze turned frigid. He wasted no time. He bit his finger and smeared fresh blood along the blade of the ax.

Alexander felt terror unlike anything he had ever known. His spirit nearly collapsed as well. He jolted and fled in blind panic.
Dominic did not hurry. Ax in hand, he followed at an unhurried pace.
Alexander had not run more than 300 feet when he suddenly found himself unable to move.
The space ahead lay empty, yet it felt as though an invisible wall blocked his path, leaving him unable to advance even an inch.
Alexander turned back. Dominic continued to approach.
Despair filled Alexander’s eyes.
