“I’ve got clothes,” Riley said. He quickly switched into a dark combat suit. It was clearly a transmog outfit.
The other two changed as well. As bounty hunters, they often took stealth missions. Not changing would have been strange.
Everyone was ready, except Fern hadn’t changed his outfit.
He walked out casually and spotted a criminal passing by.
“What are you staring at?” Fern called.

The criminal refused to look weak; he chased after him.
The moment the man entered the alley, Riley stepped in and pinned him in place. Fern raised his bow, but before he could shoot, a streak of black light and a flash of rainbow light struck the criminal at the same time.
The light burned through him. He fell and vanished.
Fern whistled in awe.
“Those two contract beasts of yours hit hard. Must be tough to train them, right p>
“Not really,” Joanna said.
It wasn’t too challenging. She just had to pet them and give them a little affection now and then.
“Oh well, Summoners burn through money fast!” Fern said with a grin. He became even more convinced that Joanna had joined bounty hunting for the rewards.
He didn’t ask more. Instead, he went back to luring more criminals from the dungeon.
These enemies were dungeon-generated. They followed some rules but ignored others.
For example, if Fern started killing openly, all the criminals in the dungeon would rush at them at once. That would be nearly 20,000 criminals.
Before, the bounty hunters weren’t holding back because they had 40,000 people. The criminals only had 20,000.

How could they fight a crowd like that?
One spit from each enemy would be enough to drown them.
So they had to take them out one by one.
But there was a rule to that too. Each enemy had to die quietly. If no one noticed, the others wouldn’t come running.
It was the safest way.
It just took more time.
But with Joanna’s damage output, six hours would be enough to take out 20,000 criminals.
Under Fern’s steady lead, they pushed forward. They even ran into a small boss played by Skylar. But in a one-on-one fight, he wasn’t a match for Fern.
At last, they reached the doors of the great hall.
