I stepped into the hotel lobby. My phone buzzed. Elder Seymour. The old fox never contacted me unless he wanted something.
I stopped to check the message.
My eyes narrowed.
He actually secured a partnership with Evelink Biosciences? Cyra growled in my mind, sounding surprised.
“I’m wondering the same thing,” I replied internally. “He has deeper connections than we thought p>

I nodded curtly and headed for the elevator.
I walked into the private dining room. A man was watching me in the window reflection. He turned, his face breaking into a warm, disarming smile.
“Alpha Calvin,” he said, extending his hand. “It’s an honor to finally meet you p>
Alpha Logan. The King of Duskwatch Bay.
He didn’t look like a brute. He was handsome in a refined way, with intelligent eyes and a suit tailored to perfection. He had a reputation for being a financial genius, turning his pack’s territory into a massive economic hub.
“Alpha Logan,” I responded, taking his hand.
His grip was firm, matching my strength perfectly. I sized him up instantly. Under that gentle smile was a shark. He was just as strong as me.
No dominance games. He wasn’t trying to crush my hand to prove a point. He was confident enough not to need cheap tricks. But I knew better than to underestimate him. Doing business with Logan required walking on a knife’s edge.
We settled into business quickly. Logan was straightforward. He wanted an alliance for territory expansion. Smart man.
By the end of the meeting, the deal was done.

“Never do.” He smiled, turned, and walked out.
I watched him walk away. It made me wonder—why was Logan here in Ravenshade instead of staying in his stronghold at Duskwatch Bay? But I didn’t have the energy to dig deeper right now. As long as he brought profit and cooperation, his true motives could wait.
After Logan left, Zeon approached me. His expression was tight.
“What happened?” I demanded.
Zeon cleared his throat uncomfortably.
“Alpha, there’s been an incident involving Luna Diana and your sister p>
My jaw tightened. “Explain p>
“They confronted Evelyn at her property,” Zeon said carefully. “It seems Luna Diana was upset about what happened to Randy p>
Randy. That piece of trash tried to drug Evelyn at the party. I had him taken care of. Now he was a eunuch. Permanently. He would never touch a woman again.
“And?” I asked. My voice was calm, but I was furious.
“Luna Diana caused trouble for Evelyn,” Zeon reported. “So Evelyn… drove her car right at them. She nearly ran them over p>
Good, Cyra snarled. She deserved worse.
I silently agreed. Diana might be my birth mother, but she had crossed too many lines.
She was the one who leaked Evelyn’s location to Clara back then, putting Evelyn and the twins in danger. She never liked Evelyn.
“Luna Diana is in the hospital,” Zeon continued. “Minor injuries. And… she was publicly humiliated p>
“I see.” I felt a rush of dark satisfaction. Evelyn was fighting back.
I looked at Zeon. “Freeze my father’s cards. Immediately p>
Zeon hesitated. “Alpha Gregory’s cards? Are you sure p>
“Everything,” I said coldly. “Stop his dividends. Cut him off completely p>
Zeon nodded. “Yes, Alpha p>
Two days later.
I was in my office reviewing reports.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pressure against my mental barrier. A mind-link request.
It was my father.
I frowned and slammed my mental walls up, blocking him instantly. I didn’t want him in my head.
Seconds later, my desk phone started ringing. Then my cell phone.
He wasn’t giving up.
I stared at the screen for a moment, letting it ring, before answering.
“Calvin!” Gregory’s voice thundered through the phone. “What the hell is going on? My cards are declined! All of them! I’m standing at the checkout and I look like a fool p>
I leaned back in my chair. “I froze them p>
“You what? You have no right p>
“I have every right,” I cut him off. “I control the company. I control the money p>
Gregory sputtered. “Why? What did I do p>
“Ask your wife and daughter,” I said ruthlessly. “Diana and Lydia went to harass Evelyn p>
There was silence on the other end.
“I don’t care about your family drama!” Gregory shouted. “Turn my money back on p>
“You want your money?” I said, my voice dropping to a dangerous growl. “Then handle your wife and daughter. Keep them away from Evelyn. If Diana goes near my mate again, freezing your cards will be the least of your problems p>
“Calvin, she’s your mother p>
“I don’t want to see her,” I said. “Fix it. Or stay broke p>
I hung up the phone.
Ever since I took over Wolfe Haven International, I had stripped Gregory of all real power. He was just a figurehead who loved to spend money traveling the world. Now, he knew who held the leash.
“Alpha?” Zeon asked from the doorway.
“My father will handle Diana,” I said calmly. “He knows what’s at stake. Restore his access only after he handles it p>
Our mate is strong, Cyra said proudly. But we should still watch them.
“One more thing,” I said to Zeon. “Have someone keep an eye on Evelyn and the children. Discreetly. Diana is crazy enough to try something else p>
