After writing the words, Lindy walked to the window and threw herself from it.

Seconds later, the sound of a heavy impact echoed from below. The grandparents watching their grandchildren in the community square were the first to see her.
“Someone jumped p>
“Oh my God! Which floor did she fall from? Look at her p>
“Where’s… where’s her head p>
The sounds of police sirens and ambulances soon filled the air.
It was past two in the morning when Tammie received a call from the police. As Lindy’s employer, and because of the note she had left behind, the police had quickly traced her back to him. Tammie hadn’t been able to sleep anyway; he was still searching for evidence of Lindy’s guilt.
When he heard that Lindy had died by suicide, he was stunned. His legs trembled as he grabbed his phone and rushed out of the house.

Lindy was dead.
Could it be that he had actually been wrong about her?
A heavy, sickening feeling settled in his stomach. It was a life. A real, living person. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn’t have been so harsh with her.
Ann was downstairs getting a glass of water when she saw him hurrying out. “Tammie, what’s wrong p>
“Lindy… she jumped from her building. She’s dead,” he said, each word heavy.
“She jumped?” Ann covered her mouth, her eyes wide with shock. “Do you think… do you think she killed herself out of guilt p>
Hearing the news, Ann’s first reaction was a surge of wild elation. She had been worried about finding a scapegoat, and now, this fool Lindy had served herself up on a silver platter.
Killed herself out of guilt? The words made Tammie pause.
Sensing his hesitation, Ann quickly waved her hands. “Tammie, don’t get me wrong. I just mean… if a person isn’t afraid of dying, why would they be afraid of being wrongly accused? She looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. “If you really did accuse her unfairly, the truth would come out eventually. Why would she need to kill herself p>
The guilt that had been crushing Tammie moments before began to evaporate. Ann was right. If a person wasn’t afraid of death, why would they fear a false accusation? She must have realized she was caught and couldn’t handle the pressure. She killed herself because she was guilty.
The thought solidified, and his guilt turned to anger. “You’re right, Ann! She must have killed herself out of guilt! Ann, you go back to sleep. I have to go to the police station to give a statement, but I’ll be back soon p>
“Okay,” Ann nodded.
Tammie spent the night at the police station, giving a detailed statement. By the time he was released, it was one o’clock the next afternoon. Benedict, who had been waiting outside, rushed over as soon as he saw him. “Tammie, what on earth is going on? Why did you end up at the police station p>
With CL Jewels in such a crisis, Benedict had naturally flown back to help deal with the fallout. He had taken the first flight he could get. He never expected to land and immediately hear that Tammie was with the police.
Tammie ran a hand through his disheveled hair and explained what had happened. “Lindy definitely killed herself out of guilt! I will find proof that she was the one who stole from us p>
After hearing the whole story,

Benedict was aghast. “Tammie! How could you be so reckless? You had no evidence, yet you just went ahead and accused her! That was a person’s life!” He shook his head in disbelief. “Ann was the more likely suspect, but you went after an innocent Housekeeper! You were completely out of line p>
Tammie felt a surge of indignation. “She killed herself! What does that have to do with me? Besides, if she really felt I had wronged her, she could have found a way to prove her innocence Why jump off a building?” Benedict’s words made it sound as if he had pushed her, and it infuriated him. “You say I accused an innocent housekeeper, but aren’t you doing the exact same thing to Ann, with no proof at all p>
Benedict’s head was pounding. “Let’s not argue about this now. Let’s go to your place and see what we can find p>
Tammie suppressed his anger and nodded.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the villa. Ann was out, so the house was empty. Benedict, who had been there before, went straight upstairs to the study. As he walked in, he noticed a security camera mounted in the corner of the ceiling. He frowned. “I thought you said there was no camera in here p>
“There is,” Tammie said. “But it’s been broken for a while p>
“Broken?” Benedict walked over to it and examined it. “Has the power been cut to it at any point p>
Tammie shook his head. “No one’s touched it since it stopped working.” He sighed. “If only this thing had been working!” If it had, it would have proven Ann’s innocence.
“Give me the account and password for the camera’s app,” Benedict said suddenly, his eyes narrowing. “Back when I was starting out, I met a hacker online who turned out to be the legendary ‘J’. Maybe he can help us recover the footage p>
Tammie’s eyes lit up. “You mean… we might be able to find proof that Lindy was the thief?” He quickly added, “Benedict, if that footage shows Lindy was the one, you have to personally apologize to Ann p>
