Noreen’s cheeks flushed, her heart pounding.
Ever since her older brother had scolded her last time, she knew she couldn’t be too impatient. So what if he had a girlfriend now? As long as he wasn’t married, I still have a chance.

Sebastian shrugged off his coat and handed it to Foster, who stood nearby.

Sebastian dropped into a single-seater sofa, leaning back lazily. He rubbed his brow and said in that low, magnetic voice, “Looks like I need to have a talk with the old man about your… preferences; maybe he can set you straight before it’s too late p>
“Sebastian, Sebastian, come on, spare me. I was just joking,” Cameron said quickly, throwing his hands up in surrender.
Manny, never one to miss a chance to stir the pot, piped up from the side. “Cameron, your entertainment company must be crawling with young idols, right? Don’t tell me you and…” He trailed off, arching a brow and giving Cameron a slow, pointed once-over.
Elaine sat there with a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying the show.
Cameron pulled the woman beside him into his arms, shooting a sharp look around. “Don’t talk nonsense; you’ll make Ivy misunderstand p>
Ivy’s delicate face flushed a soft pink. She lowered her gaze shyly, unused to this kind of setting. It was her first time at a gathering like this; every man here was one of Kingston’s elite heirs. The atmosphere was intimidating, and she couldn’t help feeling nervous.

Cameron puffed up a little, glancing at Noreen with pride. “Ivy’s ambitious, isn’t she?
Hardworking, considerate, and sweet, too.” He leaned over and planted a kiss on her cheek after he said it.
Manny checked his watch. “Where the heck is Fawks? He’s the only one missing. Even Sebastian’s here, and this is the first time he’s ever been late p>
Elaine sipped her wine thoughtfully. “I heard Kingston’s special district was attacked recently. The injuries were… strange. They’ve been busy dealing with it ever since p>
“I heard the same from my old man,” Cameron chimed in. “Apparently, they even brought in Mr. Jorge p>

Sebastian took a slow sip of his red wine, his eyes glinting coldly. “Yeah. Things are wrapped up for now; I’ll be staying here for a while p>
“Fawks,” Cameron drawled, smirking, “if we hadn’t dragged Sebastian out here today, he’d have disappeared already-you know how it is p>
