Three months later, the court officially granted our divorce.
Marital assets were divided according to law-I reclaimed all technology patents, and Kai got an empty shell of a company.
Walking out of the courthouse, I felt an unprecedented sense of freedom.
Luna texted me: [Phoenix, congratulations on your freedom! Raven got fired from school for moral misconduct p>
I replied: [She brought it on herself p>
[Plus she and my brother completely fell out!] Luna continued.
[My brother’s health is shot and the company’s failing. Raven got disgusted with his lack of money and dumped him outright. Now my brother lives alone in that big house like a broken man p>
A week later, Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorne came to see me.
“Phoenix,” Mrs. Hawthorne said with red eyes, “I know Kai wronged you, but for the sake of all your years together, could you help him p>
