Chapter 16
The process was simply planned out.
Aunt Marcy guides Daniel through the school registration process while Naomi goes across the road; to the supermart, to get the food items.
After which, they’d meet together at the car who’d arrive in time to take them to the mall to shop for Daniel’s clothes and etc.
Kelvin howled in distress as the thought of being separated from his mate.
“Oh shutup”. Daniel sighed, his pride not letting him admit he felt the same way as well.
His half-closed eyes raked over the tall school building in boredom, his cold blue orbs exuding a very dangerous aura which was hard to go unnotice by the students lingering in the hallway when they walked by.
As they meandered across the hallway, he noticed Marcy had a worried look on her face while glancing over a piece of paper in her hands.
“What’s wrong. Did we walk into the wrong school p>
He was hoping she’d say ’Yes p>
“I just can’t find my way around the school map. I’m looking for principal’s office p>
Daniel sighed.
“Using maps are so old-fashioned aunt p>
“Well excuse me for not knowing what’s old-fashioned and what’s not p>
A guy happened to pass by, on his way to class.
“Hey”. Daniel called out and he turned. His eyes widened on recognizing Marcy and he stopped slouching and stood straight. “Do you mind showing us the principal’s office p>
“It’s upstairs. Two doors to the left. I’m sorry but I’m late for class”. With that, he dashed off, dropping his wallet in the process.
Daniel rolled his eyes, bending to pick the leather wallet.
“Daniel you shouldn’t take things that aren’t yours”. Marcy pointed out once Daniel opened the wallet to peek.
Aside some cash, an ID and what looked like some drug?!, there wasn’t much in it worth taking.
He put it in his pocket.
“I’ll give him back if I do see him. I don’t know what he’s so nervous about by the way p>
“Maybe he recognizes you”. Marcy muttered.
“What did you say aunt p>
“Nothing”. She quickly said. “Let’s go. The registration would take a few minutes and we’d go shopping p>
Narrowing his eyes at his aunt who sauntered across the hallways and bolted for the stairs, he finally moved.
Daniel reluctantly shook Principal Matthew’s hands while maintaining a forced smile.
“I must say Mrs., Your Nephew’s such a fine lad. Quite smart too. I reviewed his statics and resume from his last school at Moom Howler’s prime academy and believe me, he’s doing really well. We need brains like this in this school of ours p>
Marcy beamed proudly, almost huffing with pride.
“Thank you so much Mr. Mathews”. She affirmed with a broad smile.
He sat back down, pushing back his tortoise-shelled glasses as he wrote down a few things on a piece of paper.
Marcy reached out and took it when he offered it to her.
“Those are the list of things he needs for the school year. He’ll come back here tomorrow for the items at the bursar’s office p>
“Can’t he just come by next week. His Alpha’s naming ceremony is this week so he’ll be very busy Mr. Matthews”. Marcy explained, putting the paper in her bag.
Daniel began slouching but once he remembered Marcy’s words earlier, he straightened up, retaining his forced smile.
He wouldn’t want to be taken to the barber’s shop at all. It was bad enough she was going to be picking his clothings.
“Of course The man’s voice was so loud, the young boy almost fell back. “The ceremony is very important. My daughter and I wouldn’t miss it for the world p>
Gamma Matthew had a daughter?
“Of course”. Marcy replied in the same cheerful tone. She turned to Daniel. “Daniel Honey. His daughter is also in the same school and she’s in her sophomore year as well p>
Daniel stuttered, not sure of what to say.
“That’s great. Wonderful news p>
“I’d call her up for introductions but she should be in class by now. I can’t wait to see you again Alpha Daniel. Have a great weekend p>
Daniel reached over and they shook hands again.
“Thank you. You too sir p>
After much exchanged pleasantries, the duo left the office.
They were outside the school’s premises and their driver was yet to drive in. Marcy made a quick call to Naomi while Daniel took in the breathtaking view of the school building.
The surrounding was deserted except for several pickup trucks and posh cars belonging to students. There was a lush garden in the compound as well. But they didn’t interest him as much as a student who was climbing down a rope connected to the top floor; on a window.
Marcy was back-faced to the school, engrossed in the call, not noticing when Daniel throdded forward, his sharp blue eyes taking in a girl who was crawling down a long rope which stopped a few centimeres from the ground.
Interested in what the beautiful blonde was up to, he strolled over, glancing behind him once in a while to be sure Marcy had not noticed his absence.
On getting to the end point of the thick rope, she hopped down, dropping on both hands and legs, a mass of hair falling over her face.
“That was some jump Someone suddenly spoke up.
Oh-no!! Had she been caught sneaking out again.
She leaped up, her hair bouncing behind her, her arms poised, ready to defend herself.
She however dropped them, her lips parted in an ’o’ shape on locking eyes with the most dreamy blue orbs she had ever come across.
Naturally, her eyes travelled downwards, taking note of the impressive body frame and long strong legs, down to Louis Vuitton new edition shoes. Her gaze travelled back upwards, taking in the breathtaking view of his handsomeness. The perfectly sculpted face. Those dreamy metallic blue colored eyes that trapped her brown orbs in them. It was almost as if, her eyes were attracted to his. She couldn’t just keep her eyes off his.
“Are you done”. He finally tore through the silence, hands casually buried in his pockets.
She shook her head, closing her eyes before finally opening them again on realizing he wasn’t who she expected to be.

It wasn’t surprising that not a lot of people knew the new Alpha by just his features. Things would definitely change after the ceremony.
But for now, he’d rather enjoy the feeling of liberty of not being know.
“I’m Daniel”. He calmly replied, locking gazes with her which he intentionally did to drive her out of comfort.
He looked back up at the rope which was dangling still.
“Won’t you get caught if a student or teacher eventually finds this p>
“I would be far gone into the other side p>
“Other…side p>
A perfectly sculpted brow was raised.
“As in where the humans stay? Don’t you know that p>
“Uh p>
She finally took in a sharp breath and released it shakily, raising her arms to readjust her hair.
He noticed she had a big bag hung across her shoulders. It looked heavy.
“Are you a student here. I’ve never seen you in the pack”. She said, hands on hips, impatiency in her eyes.
Daniel looked back in time to see Marcy looking around like she was looking for someone…and that someone was him. Their ride wasn’t here yet. Did she expect them to walk to the mall p>
“Is that your mummy”. The girl asked, a taunting smile playing on her lips. “You should crawl back to her before she gets a heart attack p>
Apparently she didn’t recognize Marcy from afar. She’d have realized Daniel wasn’t someone to mess with.
Daniel frowned at her words and his heart thumped in anger at her teasing smile and the taunting smirk glittering in her eyes.
“You know..you really should be careful what you say especially to people you don’t know p>
“Save it”. She cut in, readjusting the bag around her neck. “I’m off so if you can keep what just happened a little secret between us, that’d be great”. Without sparing him a glance, she turned to dash off when she noticed he was trailing after her.
She turned abruptly and he almost crashed into her.
