Liliana and Raiden exchanged looks before running upstairs, almost colliding over each other.
As Nancy reached the top of the stairs, far off, she could see Mirabel talking with her entire cleavage visible to Koan, her arms folded on the table while Koan who sat on the opposite side of the table, calmly sipped his drink, replying with a neutral expression.
Koan froze, the lip of his cup to his lips when the scent of his mate flooded his nose, snapping him from whatever he was doing at that moment. Reflexively, he looked up, only to meet with raging eyes of Nancy Maguire.
Frowning, she turned and almost gasped at the ravenous beauty walking towards them with a frown etched on her face.
She gulped and raked her eyes over Nancy’s physique, finally being insecure about herself for the first time ever. She had always thought she was the prettiest and fairest of them all.

Nancy finally reached their table, Liliana and Raiden stopping at the top of the stairs, anticipating what she’d do next.
Koan raked his gaze over her body and for a second, you could note something change in the angry expression in his eyes, something like surprise and lust all at the same time.

Nancy suddenly slammed her hand on the table, snapping him out of his thoughts.
“And who are you?” Mirabel asked in a cold tone scanning Nancy from head to toe, displeasure evident in the tone of her voice.
“I’m Koan’s woman.” Nancy didn’t beat about the bush and went straight to the point.
And besides, It wasn’t the same as his mate, right?
“Excuse me?” Mirabel frowned now and glanced at Koan.
“Nancy… ” Koan started with a wary voice but Mirabel interrupted him next.
“You know her name? Are you two in a relationship or something… ” She turned to Nancy, for a minute, finding her features really familiar. “I feel like I’m being made a fool out of p>
“Are you that stupid to not have comprehended what I said earlier. I. Am. Koan’s. Woman. Why are you still asking if we’re in a relationship p>
Mirabel turned to Koan.
“Then why am I here p>
Koan turned to Nancy, impatiency in his eyes.
“You’re here as my woman, Mirabel. Don’t listen to her. Nancy, if you’re here to party, go downstairs and know your place here. If you’re here to cause trouble, then leave p>
“What do you mean ’know my place’? I’m an Alpha’s daughter. Despite living in another pack, my status should only get me exclusive treatment here, shouldn’t it? Why do I have to dance downstairs with the others and why does she have to be here p>
Mirabel was getting more confused by the minute. She stands up.
“Sit down.” Koan said in a lethal voice, not even looking up from his drink, a vein throbbing at the side of his forehead.
She made to sit down.
“Leave.” Nancy countered his words with hers, glaring at Mirabel with something unfathomable in her eyes.
Mirabel suddenly bowed with shaky shoulders at Nancy causing Koan to slowly drop his drink, staring at her in disbelief.
“Yes Luna.” She said in a robotic voice and left without even blinking, a dead-pan expression on her face.
Liliana and Raiden stared at everything that ensued with their mouths wide open, even moving aside to let Mirabel pass them by like a programmed robot.
They exchanged looks before Raiden finally made his way forward. However Liliana, held him by the wrist.
“Let’s go downstairs p>

“They need their space and privacy. What do you think you’re going to do once you get there p>
“Okay. I’ll come downstairs. Now, keep your hands off me p>

Without a word, she dragged him downstairs with her.
“How did Nancy do that p>
“I guess it has something to do with being our Alpha’s mate p>
“But Koan’s haven’t bitten her yet p>
“It’s normal for her to use her aura but for now it’s not powerful enough until she gets the mate mark p>
Nancy calmly slid into the chair facing Koan and folded her arms on the table, leaning forward with a smug, seductive smile
Koan’s brows twitched and so did the muscle in his jaw, but his expression cleared up a bit on seeing her cleavage calling out to him from her leather dress.

Koan ignored her but glanced her way with a neutral expression.

She frowned at him.

He pondered over calling her a child but he rethought it and decided to say in a more simple sentence,

He almost chuckled, pouring himself another cup while she stared at him.

“I honestly don’t know why it’s bothering you,” He poured himself a drink again and smirked at Nancy who felt her heart flip at the daring smirk directed at her. “We haven’t f**ked before and I don’t plan to have anything mutual with you p>

Koan’s gaze turned smouldering but his smirk never faltered even as he drank.

Her gaze darkened and she slammed her hands on the table, startling him.
