Chapter 78
The scent of fried eggs and slightly burnt toast was like a refreshing alarm clock in the entire Alpha’s mansion.
Everyone was up in no time and after several minutes of packing up after which they freshened up, they all went downstairs, anticipating the delicious meal that wafted through their nose from the kitchen.
When everyone was busy packing up, Jephthah was slowly opening his eyes, his brows creasing as he frowned from the sunlight that seeped into his eyes from the window. He shut them immediately.
He groaned softly and wrapped his arm around whatever he had it around. It was soft, comfortable and warm against him. Suddenly, his eyes flew open and he saw Talia looking at him.
Eyes widening with his face as red as a tomatoe, he sprang up from the bed looking like he just saw a python lying next to him. His movements startled Talia and she sat up on the bed, staring at him in shock.
“What’s wrong?” She was terrified. Had he seen something to frighten him so much this morning.
Jephthah bit his tongue, wondering what to tell her. He had completely forgotten about the events of last night and how she had ended up on his bed until now but earlier, he was shocked on seeing her. He wasn’t used to waking up to a beautiful woman on his bed like this.
His face flushed as the events of last night played in his head like a porn movie. The way Talia’s face looked flushed underneath him and the sweetest sound he had ever had spilled out like beautiful tunes of a music from her mouth. He could still feel the sting of her nails digging into his back yesterday and it was bliss.
Raking his hand through his hair, he managed to say,
“I’m fine… sorry for startling you p>
Talia got off the bed, putting on her flipflops.
“I’m going to head back to my room and change for breakfast, okay? You should pack up too p>
He forced himself to look her in the eye as he replied,
“O-Okay sure p>
She moved close to him like she wanted to do something but he reflexively stepped back, regretting it at the last second when she just smiled at him and left the room.
Groaning, he grabbed his head.
“I’m such a stupid person p>
Once Talia was sure no one was in the hallways, she crept to her room and went straight to Nancy’s bed. She placed her hand on the bed and only grabbed the soft linen of the sheets.
She bit her lip in guilt. She knew when she had left for Crescent Moon’s pack but she wished she had been around to see her off. She turned to her bed to see John snoring on her pillow.
“You f**king as*hole!” She hit him with each word, right across his face with Nancy’s pillow.
John juted out from sleep and reflexively grabbed Talia’s wrists, pulling her down to fall against him.
His eyes finally widened and was completely cleared of sleep when he saw her mad face hovering above his, flushed.
“Oh sh*t” He pushed her away and she fell on her back, lying side by side with him on the bed.
Before she could recover from the fall, he already leaped up from the bed and ran as fast as he could, out the room.
Her face burned with embarassment and anger as she sat up, frowning at the exact spot on the bed where he had ran out from.
Royce gently placed Brittany wrapped in a snow-white colored robe on the bed. Like him, her hair was wet from the bath and stuck to the sides of her face and ears. Her face looked flushed and her lips was rosy pink. He covered her up to her waist and held her hands in his big ones, leaning close to leave a kiss on her forehead.
Brittany closed her eyes and leaned in to his kiss, sighing softly as his warm lips made her feel a bit better. He leaned back and kissed her cheek before saying, looking into her eyes,
“I’m going to bring in breakfast in bed, okay? Don’t just go anywhere. We can postpone going back home if you’re not in the right mind to leave.” His soft brown eyes was filled with worry.
She solemnly nodded and arched her head up when he kissed her on the lips, supporting the back of her head with his hand. She moaned softly, raising her hand to curl around his hair, depending the kiss.
When he left, she brushed the strands of hair across her ears and pulled out her phone staring at a picture of Naomi. She almost chuckled painfully. Just like that, Naomi was gone?
A tear dropped from her eyes down to the phone screen which slid down to the bedsheets.
When Royce stepped out, Naomi was coming downstairs from freshening up after she had made breakfast and was heading to the kitchen to dish the food since everyone had begun to arrive at the dining table.
“Um… Naomi, right p>
Naomi paused and turned, almost sighing in relief when she recognized him. Brittany’s mate, Beta Royce.
“That’s me she nervously said, wondering what he wanted.
“Brittany’s not doing too well,” He noticed Noami’s nervous look turn to one of panic and worry. “Can you bring us breakfast to our room, please p>
“S-Sure. I’ll do that now.” She hurriedly said. Her heart was beating fast, wondering why Brittany was suddenly In such state. Was it because she thought she had gone?
“Thank you.” With that, he went back into the room.
As Naomi turned to rush into the kitchen and get breakfast for the couple, she winced on connecting with a powerful broad wall which had been behind her.
Holding her forehead, she looked up to notice it wasn’t a wall. It was a chest. A broad hard chest of a male. The sharp scent of wine and lemon suddenly flooded her nostrils even before she looked up to see who she had hit.
Gulping, she trailed her eyes from his chest up to his neck to his face. Her eyes widened and her hand slowly dropped from her head.
