Chapter 42
Large pink eyes slowly opening, Nancy yawned, her small cherry red lips wide open. She slowly sat up on the huge bed, smacking her lips like she just had a taste of something sweet in her dreams while her eyes were struggling to keep open themselves.
Her barefoot feet landed noisilessly on the ground. She looked so cute in her oversized T shirt which scarcely hugged her curves and stopped just some centimeters above her knees. Her hair was a mess and she didn’t even bother to fix it up as she brushed her teeth smiling the entire time. She was just very happy today for a special reason unknown to everyone in the house except Talia of course. When she done, she bolted for that bathroom door.
She suddenly dashed towards Talia on the bed and began shaking the bed with energetic and vigorous joy. Since it was going to be the Alpha’s naming ceremony today, she was thinking she and her best friend could celebrate her birthday just in the fields before the event. They could get a few snacks and just have a small party in the fields.
“You sleepy head!!! Wake up and wish me happy birthday She sounded excited. However the smile turned upsidedown when she saw the pillows which were hidden underneath the blankets. Confused, she ran her hands over the bed as if to be sure that no one was else was there.
“Talia She almost teared up as she dropped the pillows back on the bed and slowly backed away. “Oh no!!! You turned into a pillow on my birthday p>
She began sobbing and started talking to herself.
“I…I…just asked the moon goddess to grant me a few wishes for my birthday. I told her to make my Dad love me again,” She started counting everything off with her finger. “And for him to stop loving that mean scary woman and her daughter and I also asked for the perfect mate She began wailing loudly. “I also asked her to make you a softie because you act hard-headed sometimes and you forget you’re a girl. I didn’t ask for you to be turned into a pillow p>
She gladly jumped on the bed and hugged the pillow, snuggling into it.
“You are very soft though. I think I’m going to cuddle with you like this for today. Whether you like it or not.” She began talking to the pillow.
“I don’t know if I should tell the others about my birthday. I mean today’s the Alpha’s Naming Ceremony and I just think telling them would be an inconvenience.” Nancy sighed. “It’s bad my father stopped wishing me happy birthday since a long time. I just wish my friends would p>
Suddenly the door burst open and she sat up like a bolt clutching the pillow uptight. Her huge wavering eyes however became much larger when she saw Talia Infront of almost everyone she had seen in the house with a smile on her face.
“Happy birthday Nancy!!” Everyone shouted with genuine smiles on their faces, Talia’s voice, the loudest.
People like Koan and Dora who weren’t willing to smile were securely at the back, behind people like Jephthah, John and Marcy.
Nancy screamed with tears balling down her eyes. Everyone covered their ears not prepared to hear her say next p>
“Talia!!! Oh my gosh!! I thought you were a pillow p>
You could almost imagine the house having question marks lingering on everyone’s head as they tried to decifer her words.
Talia just smiled and slowly walked forward, bringing Nancy close to the others who was looking at everyone, speechless, so much emotions swirling in her huge pink eyes.
“Nancy,” She softly said, inclining her hand to everyone behind her. “We all woke up early for this…just to tell you happy birthday. On a wonderful day, today by 6:00pm, a shining star was born. With bright blue hair, pink eyes and a wonderful personality p>
As she spoke, with so much emotions, Aunty Marcy and Luna Ciara who were so emotional began sobbing. Even Brittany shed a few years. Daniel only felt worse watching the scene. Dora wanted to gag. Alpha Koan’s eyes softened a bit on seeing how happy Nancy was…but he was still angry from being woke up p>
“Happy birthday to you…happy birthday to..you Someone began to sing and everyone turned to see a woman at the door holding a cake. With how high her brows was and how bright her blue eyes shone, they could tell that she was smiling. She was wearing a mask so they weren’t too sure. Her chestnut almost gold hair was glowing under the warm morning sun as she slowly walked into the room with the cake in her hands.
Everyone stared at the woman and cake in awe not sure which was more stunning to look at. The woman’s voice was so beautiful that for a minute they just let her sing before Talia joined in and everyone else began singing of course some people didn’t sing but stared on as Naomi dropped the cake on the table next to Nancy’s bed.
“Oh my gosh!!! Hey it’s you!!” Nancy was ecstatic and threw her arms around Naomi before she could leave the room and escape from everyone’s curious gaze. She looked back at the others who were confused. Talia however, spoke up,
She explained that she had found her way into Naomi’s room and had made an arrangement with her to begin baking the cake very early in the morning. Naomi then had just woken up from that weird dream and wasn’t looking forward to sleepimg again. She had gladly baked the cake along with Talia who later went back to sleep since she was going to have to wake up and wake everyone else up.
When Talia was done, Brittany came forward and announced to everyone with her hand on Naomi’s shoulder.
“This is… Naomi. She… works around the house but she’s like my sister.” She turned to Naomi and they smiled at each other.
