Chapter 60

Once her feet touched the ground, she rushed towards Daniel. The others moved aside and watched in fear and anxiety as Naomi fell to her knees and threw her arms around Daniel, cradling his head close to her chest.

The Kitsunes stood far off, standing side by side like the warriors they were, anticipating what would happen next with a nonchalant look on their faces.

Talia, Brittany and Barton were conscious of the dangerous creatures’ prescence but they were more worried about Daniel to care what would happen anytime after Naomi helped him.

“Daniel.” She whispered into his ear like the after-math of a mother trying to sooth her child from a horrible nightmare.

Her lips and nose were buried in his hair, his black locks glistening with her tears as she silently wept when she felt the pain he was experiencing.

A sigh escaped his lips when he felt her embrace, her refreshing scent flooding his nostrils just as his did to her, igniting all the cells and organs in her body.

Kelvin had stopped howling but he was silent now which was unlike him. Daniel blinked when he realize Naomi was holding him in her arms. Without a thought, he moved back and pushed her and Naomi gasped as she fell to the ground on her bottom.

She could feel dark energy surrounding the area just as Daniel stood up but she raised an hand, stopping the Kitsunes from making any further moves. She didn’t realize just how much her raises arms affected the Kitsunes. They were forced to obey her at once.

“I didn’t need your comfort He stooped low to her height on the ground and when their eyes locked, he painfully shut his on feeling all the emotions swirling in her eyes in his heart. “I He was finding it hard to speak. This was difficult but he couldn’t stop himself. He was hurt that she was leaving without a second thought and he was angry that he was sad she was leaving. Why should he be feeling this way? She was going to the enemies’s territory which happened to be her home, right?

“I… don’t want you close to me. You might as well leave now,” He ignored the pain and hurt in her eyes. “Aside Marcy, I don’t think you’re worth anyone missing you in the Pack p>

Naomi gritted her teeth in anger.

She saw in him pain and turned back like a fool to help him. She wanted to go along with the rejection like Louis had suggested but when she had hugged him, enclosing him in her embrace, the resolve she had built in her mind to reject him had crumbled to the ground.

But now… he did not only appreciate anything she did for him, he once again made her feel like a lowly person.

“I hope you’re happy in your new home.” He suddenly said, causing her to snap back to reality where she sat on the floor staring into space.

Before she could utter a word, he turned away from her, shifting into his wolf, Barton’s jacket ripping into shreds as he dashed off.

“You’re… leaving the pack p>

Naomi turned to see who had spoken and her heart pounded, almost threatening to burst when she saw the hurt look in Brittany’s eyes.

She didn’t reply and just looked down.

Tears rolled down her eyes when Brittany turned away, running with tears stinging her eyes while Barton ean after her.

“So much drama.” Trixie groaned in irritation using telepathy to communicate with her sister.

“I’m sick of it!” Tina added in agreement.

“Brittany? Wait p>

They could hear Barton’s voice afar as he ran after his twin sister.

The air felt very chilly as Talia only remained, staring at Naomi with a blank look.

She finally talked.

“We barely know each other and I probably won’t understand how you’re feeling right now about this, but Talia bent down to her height and Naomi looked up at her with tears welling up in her eyes. “you’ve lived in Dark Risers’s pack your entire life. I won’t tell you what to do or who to listen to about moving or not but do not regret your decision later on p>

After patting her back, she turned away and left and the god of silence descended after she disappeared, leaving the Kitsunes standing behind her.

“Give me one week to say my goodbyes p>

Naomi whispered, her hand fisting, grabbing a handful of grass on the ground as her eyes focused on something unseen on the ground.

“We understand how hard this is going to be for you especially when your mate is a Werewolf but believe me when I say you are not supposed to be here. You have a greater future in Foxuse p>

Foxuse was the name of the village where the Kitsunes lived.

Naomi turned to them.

“If you really UNDERSTAND then you’d realize that there are some people who I’ve come to get used to and love as a family. I can’t just leave like that p>

“What will you tell them as your reason for leaving? Will you reveal to them the truth p>

“No, but I’ll make it known that they won’t have to need me in their lives anymore p>

“And your mate?” Trixie carefully asked and Naomi glanced back to the ground again before speaking in a slow but audible voice.

“I will reject him p>

Trixie exchanged glances with Tina and Naomi turned to see them in that similar posture again of looking at each other. They were probably communicating telepathically.

“What do we tell his highness when we return without her.” Trixie asked.

“We tell him the truth. He’s waited for decades. One week is nothing worth waiting for her to say her final goodbyes p>

“What if she refuses to come with us? What if those little teenagers keep her away p>

Tina scoffed with a smirk.

“It will take only a day for an army of Kitsunes to rain down fire and burn the entire existence of werewolves. They should know that p>
