Chapter 197
All the Kitsunes had gathered in the front yard of the royal palace to witness the departure of the new royal family. Some were floating off the ground while some were standing, all with curious gazes.
“I will be back.” Naomi whispered to Acella and the woman bowed.
“Let’s go.” Hakura whispered, already impatient. Like Talia and Brittany, she was unhesitatingly urging to go home, but unlike them, it was for a different reason.
“I hope you’ll take our pack as your home, just like I’ve taken Foxtune as mine.” Naomi said to Axle.
She bowed.
“I will Your highness p>
“It’s Naomi” She frowned a bit. “You’ll learn to drop the formalities when we’re at the pack p>
The young woman managed a tight lipped smile, clearly not comfortable with calling the Iñari by her name, yet she couldn’t defy her orders.
They all stood there, at least three feet apart, in a circle, Axle in the middle.
She began forming a small dark circle between her fingers which grew bigger and bigger and bigger until she had to use her two hands to control the large whirlpool of darkness.
It looked like a black mist.
They all had one thing in mind. They were clearly interested in knowing her elemental powers.
As it grew bigger and bigger, Acella stepped back. The darkness covered every single person standing in the circle, slowly, slowly, until they were completely hidden by the darkness.
Soon, there was a shrill siren sound, and the darkness suddenly disappeared, travelling up the sky like a black smoke.
In the place of the royal family and their accomplices, along with Axle stood a black smouldering smoke lingering from the black spot on the ground.
They had gone back.
They had gone back home.
“You know… we aren’t sure if they’re arriving today or anytime this year. Why did we literally invite the entire werewolf territory and give every single one of them false hopes if we’re not sure they’re going to come.” Jephthah said, dropping to the bed, devastated.
They were in a room in Moon Howler’s pack, and it was almost evening. Everyone had been waiting for so long that they had begun asking questions.
John had to literally run into a room and lock himself up, until Jephthah joined him, forcing him to unlock the door.
John sighed running his hand through his hair as he glanced down.
“Even if it takes all year, I won’t say we’ll wait here forever, but we will keep coming back to this spot, and when they return, we will celebrate. We have to wait Jephthah p>
“But the others… “
“Why does Dad hate me?” John suddenly asked, and when Jephthah turned, he noticed John had tears in his eyes.
His eyes widened. Clearly, he haven’t heard or witnessed what had happened between them today.
He moved close to him and sat beside his twin on the bed, putting an arm around his shoulders.
“Dad doesn’t hate us p>
“No,” John pulled out from his hold to look at him. “Dad loves you. He hates me p>
“Don’t say that. Dad doesn’t hate you. He’s just being harsh on you because… “
“Harsh? He made you Alpha of Silver fur’s Pack.” John growled. “There’s no use referring to us as Alpha Twins when I’m not even going to be an Alpha p>
“You said you didn’t care. You said you wanted to take over dad’s business on the OTHER SIDE p>
“You should know me by now. I always say I don’t care,” The tears finally dropped down his cheeks and Jephthah glanced away with pain in his eyes. “But I do care that my father doesn’t love me. I do care that he’s taking away my rightful position in the pack p>
There was a pin-drop silence as he just cried while Jephthah just sat there, staring into space. John could only turn weak and vunerable Infront of one person and that was him. Aside him, he didn’t trust anyone to cry to or vent out his frustration on.
Slowly, Jephthah stretched his hand and grabbed hold of John’s, causing the young man to turn to him.
“You’re my brother. My twin. My other half. I’m incomplete without you, because we came into this world together… we literally share a heart. If Dad won’t make you Alpha, it means he’s also depriving me of my rights as Alpha too,” He squeezed his hand. “If Dad hates you, then I don’t want want his love. If he hates you, then he hates me too p>
John sighed and squeezed his hand too, closing his eyes.
“Thank you. You’re pretty much less of a weirdo in my eyes now p>
Jephthah pulled away and punched his shoulders.

“Grow up p>
There was rustling of bushes before Nancy crept up the bunker.
“He’s not here.” She had a pensive expression on her face.
“It’s like there was an explosion here. I doubt anyone’s would be around. Maybe we… ” Talia was suddenly cut off by Nancy.
“What If they were around during the explosion.” Her voice was shaky.
“No… ” Brittany turned shaky as well. “No. No. No. It can’t be. They… are alive. I know they are… “
“We have to head to Ruby Stone’s before we conclude what had happened here.” Koan ordered and everyone exchanged weird glances.
“O- Okay” Talia agreed, nodding with a dry throat just like everyone else, scared and terrified.
As they went along, Axle strayed behind for a few seconds glancing around in awe. This was literally her first time here in the werewolf territory, so she was still in shock and amazement.
After a long while, they finally arrived at the pack.
“It looks deserted.” Daniel noted.
“Let’s go further. I see the Alpha’s mansion up ahead.” Nancy whispered to the others.
There were Omegas littered around the pack, cleaning up the mess of the war. One suddenly perked up on recognizing Alpha Koan.
“They’re here One screamed and everyone turned.
Soon, they began cheering and screaming and going to and fro, and Koan and others could only stand there and watch them in confusion.
There was a knock on the door, alerting the twins.
“I’ll check who it is. Wipe your eyes, you look like a devastated bride.” Jephthah cautioned with a whisper.
“Gee. I didn’t know.” John sacarstically said, but he quickly cleaned his eyes.
When Jephthah opened up, It was Liliana.
She suddenly hugged him and when she pulled back, there were tears in her eyes.
“Liliana what’s wrong p>
“They… they’re… they just called p>
“Who?” John joined the two at the door.
“Koan and the others. They’re here p>
“What?!” The twins yelled at the same time.
“Here? Now?” John began moving out but she held him back.
“No. An Omega called from Ruby Stone’s. They’re there now, but they don’t know anything about the party. I suggest we bring them back here.” Liliana explained before suggesting.
“Okay… I’ll stay here. You two can go pick them up.” John also suggested and the two nodded before leaving, Liliana gushing all the way, clearly excited.
Once they left, John went away to inform the others to await their arrival when he bumped into his father again.
“Where’s Jephthah?” He snapped at him coldly.
“He just left a minute ago,” John replied gruffly. Alpha Kris looked like he wanted to say something but John cut in. “Excuse me”
Alpha Kris’s jaw fell slightly as he watched his son walk past him without glancing back.
Jephthah rubbed his hand across his tired face as he drove straight for Ruby Stone’s pack with Liliana in the Passenger’s seat.

He turned to his side.
Liliana bit her lip slightly, in thought before she said.
“I want to ask you a very personal question p>
“Um… ” he seemed a bit reluctant at first, but he didn’t want her to feel bad either. He focused on the road. “Okay. What is it p>
“What if… you and Talia aren’t mates p>
Jephthah kept his eyes on the road, his gaze unwavering before he finally cleared his throat.
“To us, we already are… I,” he flushed red. “I love her, and she loves me, and if our love isn’t enough sign for the Moon goddess to make us mates, then I don’t know what is p>
Liliana smiled, looking away before she whispered.
“You two are that confident, huh p>
“Love makes people do crazy things after all.” He chuckled. “I don’t know how I’ll live when she goes back to Paris p>

“She was supposed to travel some days ago. She’s a model, so she’s got a full year contract with a world wide modelling agency in France p>

“I can’t imagine staying a year without Raiden.” She sighed and looked at Jephthah with a sympathetic look.
