Chapter 45
“That’s for us to find out.” Daniel wheezed.
“Daniel, we have to go to the hospital. What did they do to you p>
“The other one produced a red flame by wagging all her tails and I didn’t jump away In time, I was hit hard before they finally left. Barton that doesn’t matter now. They could shape shift into anyone and get Naomi at all costs. We have to protect her p>
“We?” Barton suddenly scoffed. “Daniel, If they want her, then let them take her p>
He didn’t actually mean what he said but he was surprised that Daniel was interested in protecting her no matter how badly he was wounded and he just wanted to find out his reaction to what he just said.
“Why are you saying this Barton p>
“When Naomi felt confused and dejected and broken about a truth she’s been hidden from for so many years, all she needed was comfort and what did you do? What did her mate do? You rejected her, Daniel. Without a second thought. And you broke her heart. And now you suddenly don’t want her to leave p>
“They’re obviously dangerous. They’ll hurt her p>
“I don’t think anyone would hurt her as much as you did last night. So just let it go Daniel. You’re already in a much worse condition. You can barely stand. If it’s Naomi they’ve come for. Then they can take her.” Daniel parted his lips to talk but he cut in. “I’d suggest you keep your nose out of this matter or you’d end up being burnt to death p>
He silently drove away; back home.
Ignoring his protests, he began helping Daniel out of the car when they arrived at the Alpha’s mansion.
Several squeals and girlish screams echoed in the room once Brittany led Naomi Into the room where all the girls stayed back, all dressed and ready to attend the ceremony.
Naomi almost melted into a puddle once all the girls (Except Dora who sat back, readjusting her make up) prowled around her like hungry she-wolves.
“Oh my gosh Naomi!!! You’re so pretty Why do you always hide this face underneath a mask. Gosh!! I’m so speechless.” Talia said breathlessly.
“Talia.” Naomi quietly replied. “You’re so beautiful as well. You’re making it look like I’m a goddess here p>
Dora rolled her eyes.
“Yes, but you’re the most beautiful one in the room right now!! Oh my gosh Brittany. You could have done my hair in this way too Nancy yelled like a child. “You’re so beautiful we could hide you in a room like our Iñari and not let you out of our sight!!” Everyone laughed at her words which Nancy was serious about while Dora tried to control her twitching eyes at the sight of Naomi. That woman was so beautiful, she hated her the more.
She would make sure she was thought a lesson so she’d know her place In the mansion.
Huffing, she turned away to the mirror to add another layer of lip gloss on her puckered lips, ignoring the girls as they fused over her.
Soon, Briattuny began to do Nancy’s hair just like Naomi’s while Talia stayed back to banter with Dora like it was a normal thing for them.
Naomi flashed Brittany a guiltily look as she turned away from the rest to put on her mask. She just couldn’t p>
She couldn’t.
Suddenly, Naomi felt a slight pain in her stomach. No one noticed when she held the door and bent slightly.
Tears pooled in her eyes at the excruciating pain in her stomach. It didn’t feel like a stomach ache or growl. It was like a hit sizzling iron was left to burn her flesh.
Grabbing the door knob, she staggered out of the room and closed the door behind her before leaning against it, shaking with beads of sweat running over her forehead.
“Wh.. what’s happening to me”. She whispered, trembling, the other hand clutching her stomach.
She forced her legs downstairs and almost breathed a sigh of relief when Marcy and the others had left, having packed all the food for the feast towards the venue.
However, she had barely taken a few steps out the door when she felt a sudden wave of heat sear up in her body. It was as if every part of her system including her senses were inside a boiling larva. Her senses were suddenly heightened, taste and smell struggling in the restrain of her mind as the most sweetest scent she had ever known flooded her already flared up nostrils.
She didn’t even realize when her feet began moving towards the source of the aroma. Her mouth watered as the flavor of wine and lemon lingered on the tip of her tongue. Usually she didn’t like the scent of alcohol. It usually sickened her and caused the insides of her stomach to twist in a painful way but this particular scent…it was like a waterfall of fresh wine. She bit her lip as she supported her body against the wall, the madnening desire to run after whatever was holding her senses captive.
However, she wasn’t prepared for what she saw. It made her freeze, halting her movements. The scent became more powerful and she wasn’t surprised anymore. It was obvious after all. The only person who could assault her senses in a way that causes her face to burn scarlet red, who could make her heart beat so loudly like a melifioudous melody that filled her with so much lust and desire she had ever felt p>
Her mate.
She was prepared to retreat, run back through the kitchen doors and ignore him like she planned on doing but her mate…was hurt p>
He was weakly leaning against Barton, arm on his shoulder, who was dragging him towards her direction.
The closer they came, the louder her heartbeat got.
Daniel suddenly snapped his head up when he heard her loudbeat and almost salivated at the scent of her.
She was standing there, looking horrified at his state yet unmoving.
Even in his half-unconsious state, he concluded that she was very beautiful right now.
The mask she wore, as usual, concealed her other features but the gown she was in depicted the picture of a beautiful woman.
She was in a bright blue hoodie to fit her crystal clear blue eyes. The hoodie was very long so it stopped inches before her knees. She wore nothing else but spool heels boots, black colored to suit the hoodie.
Her long hair was pulled up in a fancy style which left ringlets falling about her almond shaped face. There wasn’t a single piece of jewery on her except for a beautiful locket which fell in between her chest
He blinked, finding it difficult to believe who was standing before him. After a second, he finally passed out just as Naomi ran to his other side, putting his limp arms around her other shoulders.
