At first, Rania only felt the discomfort in her lower abdomen, a pain that she could ignore. Her pain tolerance was quite high, so when the discomfort turned very bad, and she was in agony, all she did was curling herself into a ball, and closed her eyes, praying the pain would go away quickly.
However, it didn’t. If anything, it got worse.
Rania gritted her teeth, but her stomach was in so much pain, it felt like someone was stabbing her with dagger. She didn’t dare to make a sound, as layer of sweat covered her forehead, and she pressed her palms against her stomach, hoping it was enough to alleviate the pain. It didn’t.
And now, because of the pain, she felt her ears were ringing and her vision was blurry, she tried to summon her strength, so she could walk out of the bedroom, and asked someone for a healer, but she couldn’t. The pain was too much.
When Rania thought, she would pass out, someone suddenly lifted her body, but she was too weak, to even open her eyes, and the only thing she could do was to whimper softly. She wanted to see who was this person, who was carrying her.
But, she didn’t need to do that, because she already knew who was it. His overbearing presence caused turmoil within her, but at the same time, it fulfilled the longing in her heart.
Even so, the pain on her stomach persisted. She didn’t know where he carried her, he said something in a harsh tone, but she couldn’t decipher the words he was saying. Her ringing ears didn’t help.
And when Rania was finally laid down, the soft mattress didn’t over comfort like the king’s arms did. She wanted to be carried by him. She was so close to him, his presence and his body heat felt almost comfortable to her skin.
Because of the position, her face was pressed against his chest, so she could hear his strong heartbeat. This was the second time, she felt it, and somehow, it brought peace to her mind, before it was seized by her trauma and she shut herself down.
Once Rania was on the bed, someone else touched her. A healer? She could feel the warm healing ability that suffused into her skin.
Her father had taken her to a healer when she was sick years ago, when she was little, and this was the same feeling.
And slowly, but eventually, the pain decreased, and she could breathe evenly again.

However, the whole ordeal had left Rania exhausted, she had this urge to close her eyes, and just fell asleep, thus that was what she did.
And the last thing she heard was the king’s furious voice, which made her flinch, shouting at someone to tell him about what happened to her.
“What the hell happened to her?!” Maximus’s brows furrowed deeply, as he stared at Rania’s slowly relaxed body, the pain seemed decreased significantly after Lula, the healer, checked on her.

Lula was a middle age woman with short hair, and gentle eyes, which now trembled in fear because of the king’s outburst.
No one would want to be the end of the king’s wrath, it wouldn’t end good for you.
“I think she ate something wrong, and it upset her stomach. May I know what she consumed?” Lula asked politely, and carefully. She had heard that this woman was the king’s mate, and was convinced after she caught a glimpse of the mark on her neck.
Maximus crossed his arms, he looked disturbed, and then recalled what she had been eating this afternoon, the meal that was brought to her bedroom for dinner, and also the marshmallow stick that Eiten gave to her.
“I don’t think she ate her dinner properly,” Lula said, and then she explained what the caused of her stomachache.
Rania didn’t eat much her lunch, and then with her dinner was not properly eaten, the hot spicy marshmallow stick that Eiten had brought to her became a problem.
“She should have stopped when she felt she couldn’t handle the spiciness,” Lula said with a frown, she looked at Rania with a pity look. “Maybe she felt bad to turn down the food, but royal gamma Eiten shouldn’t have offered such spicy food when he didn’t eat it himself p>
Maximus then remembered one problem that he ought to discuss with Lula. “Is I possible for someone to lose their sense of taste p>
“Lost their sense of taste?” Lula contemplated, and then nodded. “Yes. It’s possible, even though it was unheard of a shifter has such illness, because the shifter’s healing ability will prevent that, but it’s not completely impossible p>
Maximus remembered how Rania lost her wolf spirit, so she was practically a human, a runt, a bad luck, or whatever they would call her.
“What is the reason for that p>
Lula gave some thought about it before she answered. “The reason for that can be vary. I can’t say for sure, I need to have chat with her p>
Maximus’s anger seemed to die down a little bit, but the fear that the healer felt still lingered, as long as the king was there.
“Take care of her,” he said in a grim tone, as he walked out of the infirmary room to look for his gamma. That bastard had caused trouble.
On the other hand, Lula looked at the sleeping woman. She was beautiful, though rather thin. Her brows furrowed slightly, as if even in her sleep, she had a bad time.
And once there were only the two of them, Lula left the room to make a concoction for her, but when she left, there was someone who came inside.
The woman looked beautiful in her humble appearance. She looked around to make sure no one saw her enter the room, and when she saw Rania, she was shock.
