“Everyone in my family loves you. Feeling nervous about things is natural but honestly you really have nothing to be nervous about p>
I was half expecting him to say he’d come with me,
but he didn’t. I wonder if Alanna would be there.
“Besides Alanna will be there”. He pulled the covers back and got into bed. “Do you still want to catch up on the rookie p>
That made me a little less nervous knowing she will be there. Don’t get me wrong I loved his mom but his mom and his gran in the same room with just me. Yeah, that made me nervous as hell.
“Yeah”
I nodded. “But do you think you could get me some tea first?”. I asked.
“Sure babe. Do you want anything else p>

We came straight upstairs as soon as we got home.
We both wanted an early night and some time just us.
We rarely got to have that anymore because Jake was always busy with the pack and I well I was always just hanging around with nothing to do.
Of course, that would change soon when I started college. It was only a few weeks away and I was excited to start. It was about half 10 when I received a message from my gran.
She was home and wanted to have breakfast tomorrow just us. Knowing her she was trying to make up for tonight. Nothing was broken just bruised and she was to rest for the next few days.
I was glad she was home and in her own comfort.
There was nothing worse than being stuck in a hospital bed. I messaged her back letting her know I would be over around 11 and that I would bring breakfast with me.
It saved her trying to cook anything because she would regardless if she was to rest or not.
Jake brought me tea and 2 reeses peanut butter cups to go with it. I couldn’t resist because they were my favourite. He set the tv up as I placed my phone on the nightstand and got comfortable.
“Have you heard anything yet?”. He asked getting back into bed and dimming the lights.
“She’s home, no broken bones and wants to have breakfast tomorrow p>
“Thats good, isn’t it p>
“Yeah”. I nodded.
“What’s wrong?”. He asked.
“Nothing”. I frowned taking a sip of my tea. “Can you put it on p>
“You think something is wrong, don’t you p>
“No”. I shook my head. “She’s home, she’s fine and that’s all that matters now can you press play p>
He said nothing more on the matter and pressed play.
I jerked awake and sat up.
“Jake”. I pushed his shoulder.
Someone was pounding on our front door. I grabbed my phone to check the time. It was late, almost 2am.
Something was wrong. That’s the only reason someone would come here at this time. I nudged him again a groan falling from his lips.
“Someone’s at the I was cut off as the loud knocking reached our ears.
He jumped out of bed and stormed off down the stairs. I followed suit. It could be anyone, and it could be anyone that’s hurt or in danger.
“You stay put”. He disappeared into the kitchen and came back with a pair of shorts on.
I sat on the bottom step of the stairs waiting for him to open the door.
“I’m sorry to disturb you both at this time of night p>
Rocco spoke. “But we’ve found something and I’d rather you come check it out yourself p>
Found what?
“What’s going on Rocco?”. He asked.
“There’s a wolf caught in one of the traps”. He whispered but I heard every word.
“One of ours p>
He shook his head no.
“Give me ten minutes”. Jake closed the door his eyes landing on mine.
“Go back to bed I’ll be back soon p>
For once I didn’t argue with him about staying put. I could already tell he was in full Alpha mode, and I didn’t want to mess with him. I nodded and made my way back upstairs.
He would tell me tomorrow. I just hoped no one was seriously hurt.
