There weren’t many people who knew about us or at least that’s what I thought. It was hidden pretty well. Enough to live out normal lives within the human world.
Take me for example, I had no clue they existed until I was slap bang in the middle of it all.

What could have been a bad moment turned out to be quite wholesome. A little strange but it could have been a lot worse. I bet he had seen it all. The good and the bad. Being out here in the middle of nowhere I bet there were some sights passing through.
“You took your time”. He spoke as I got into the truck.
“Are you going to be in the mood for the rest of the drive?”. I sighed.
“I’m not in a mood Leah”. He started the engine and pulled back onto the highway.
“Could have fooled me. I got you this”. Placing the can of Monster in the cup holder I searched through the bag for his chips. “And these p>
“I kinda have been a little bit of a dick, haven’t I? I’m sorry babe just got a lot going on”. He ran a hand down his face before cracking open the can of monster.
“You think?”. I made a face. “You’re so hot and cold right now and then there was the sex in the bathroom which by the way you didn’t let me finish and then My words stuck in my throat as he signalled into the right shoulder the truck slowly coming to a stop.

I chewed the inside of my cheek as I shook my head no. “That was the first time where we’ve had sex, and I felt completely deflated”. Honesty was the best policy, right? There was no point in beating around the bush.
We had to be completely honest with each other.

We were in the middle of the highway. I’m sure being stopped here was illegal unless it was an emergency.

My breath caught in my throat, but I did as he asked and climbed into his lap.

Wow. Okay. I wasn’t expecting him to say that.
“Maybe”. I grinned as I placed my lips against his. “Always”. I whispered.
“I don’t deserve you babe; you put up with so much shit that you don’t deserve. I keep taking it out on you but please know I don’t mean to. I just lose my head at times p>
“I know”. I nodded. “And I can handle it, but I hate the distance I feel between us right now. If you don’t want me to go to my dad’s, then turn the car around and take me home. I don’t want there to be this tension hanging over us. I hate it p>
“That’s on me”. He kissed the top of my head. “But you’re going to your dad’s, and you’re going to meet with and have the best time with your family. But first I want you to climb into the back seat p>

I had a feeling that tension I had was about to be released.
