I wasn’t getting into this with her. She was being ridiculous, and I was not the reason Mr. Gallagher disliked her family. Not to mention it was highly inappropriate for her to even say that.
How did we even get onto the subject of talking about Mr Gallagher?

“Are you done?”. I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Remember that night in the club p>
“The night where I caught Jake with a girls hands down his pants? Yeah, I remember that night well p>
I knew exactly what she was trying to do, and I wasn’t playing ball. I didn’t want to fight with her, but I also wasn’t going to stand here and let her make me feel bad for something I had nothing to do with.
“Shit I’m sorry”. She made a face. “I don’t think before I speak sometimes p>
“Do you really think I’m the reason Mr Gallagher doesn’t like your family p>
“No, of course not. I shouldn’t have said anything I’m sorry”

“He was flirting with you”. She made a face. “And you didn’t stop him p>
“Why are we even talking about this?”. I asked.
“I don’t know”. She shrugged. “Maybe I am looking for an argument.
“And you picked me to do it with p>
“I’m sorry okay”. A sigh fell from her lips. “I’m just having a bad day and you’re the unlucky one p>
“Are you and Carter, okay?”. She only ever seemed to be this bitchy when her and Carter weren’t on speaking terms.
“We’re fine look I’m sorry for saying all of that and for even bringing it up. I’m going to head home and take a nap. I’ve been out there most of the night p>
She didn’t give me time to respond; she walked to her car and drove off down the street. I wasn’t sure if I should be worried or not. She was obviously going through something I just hoped she knew she could come to me whenever.
I closed the door and jumped about a foot in the air when his voice reached my ears.
“Is she alright p>
“You’re supposed to be sleeping”. I placed a hand over my racing heart as I locked the door.
“What’s going on with Alanna p>
“No idea”. I headed into the living room so I could eat my soup. “You should go back to bed p>
“I plan to babe I’m just getting a drink p>
“Good that’s good”. I sat on the couch and tried to concentrate on the episode playing on the TV.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Do you know Alanna thinks I’m the reason Mr Gallagher dislikes your family”
“Why were you talking about Mr Gallagher?”. He frowned.
“Because Alanna came here for a fight and thought she’d bring him into the conversation p>
“Why p>
“Because she thinks he has a thing for me”. I sighed running a hand down my face. I didn’t want to have this conversation. I couldn’t be bothered arguing with him over nothing.
We all know how jealous he gets.
“She bring up that night at the club p>
I chewed the inside of my cheek as I nodded my head. We were in such a good place right now and I didn’t want to ruin it. We were past it and I would rather not revisit the past by bring it all back up again.
“I see” He nodded. “He’s the new dean at your college, isn’t he p>
“Mr Gallagher doesn’t have a thing for me Jake and I swear if you do anything to jeopardise my place at college, I’ll never forgive you”
“Calm down babe I don’t plan on doing anything but if he ever tries it I’ll break his legs p>
He took his glass of water and headed back upstairs.
Turning the volume up on the TV I wrapped the blanket back around my shoulders and finally got round to eating my soup.
Alanna sure liked to stir the pot at times.
